Criteria to request a higher s7.12 percentage - discussion paper

Section 7.12 flat rate levy contributions are one of several ways local councils can fund infrastructure. The Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2000 sets 1% as the standard highest maximum percentage which councils can levy under a s7.12 development contributions plan. It also identifies specific areas which are subject to higher maximum percentage levies.

The Department is committed to ensuring the process of assessing requests for a higher maximum percentage levy is efficient and transparent. We have identified a set of potential criteria that can be used in assessing requests for a higher maximum percentage

The Department is seeking feedback on the proposal from key stakeholders and the community. Your feedback will help inform critical improvements to the infrastructure contributions system in NSW.

You can provide feedback on this proposal until Friday 12 June 2020 using the online submission form below.
