Central Coast Regional Plan 2041

Following a review that involved extensive consultation with the community and stakeholders, the Central Coast Regional Plan has been updated to reset priorities for the region over the next 20 years.

The draft plan was on public exhibition from 6 December 2021 until 4 March 2022.

The updated regional plan is a key part of the plan’s first 5-yearly review to ensure continued prosperity and wellbeing for the Central Coast region.

The plan is the 20-year strategic planning blueprint to ensure the ongoing prosperity of the Central Coast’s vibrant and connected communities.

The plan builds on our previous efforts and responds to this era of rapid change to promote sustainable growth, connected communities, resilience and a region that all residents have a stake in.

As a response to the new ways people live and work in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the plan’s key focus is creating a sustainable ‘15-minute region’ of connected neighbourhoods where people’s everyday needs are close to home and can be met with a short walk or  bike ride, or a car trip in rural areas.

The close access to jobs and services will encourage exercise, public transport use and reduce dependency on cars.

Connections to the Central Coast’s stunning environment is at the core of the plan that builds on ways to better connect people to parks, green and blue public spaces and weaving nature into our daily lives to improve liveability for everyone.
