My reasons for objecting to the project is as follows- I have been a Muswellbrook community member for 25+ years and I currently live within 3.1,km of the 3,km exclusion zone of the Wind Turbine project on the Muscle creek side of proposed Bowman Creek Wind farm Project. My property number is E17 -5 within the project Visual Assessment application (refer to pages 81-84). Property number E17-3 is my neighbouring property approximately 70 metres across the road from our dwelling.
The evaluations on the pages 82- 84 of the Bowmans Creek Wind Farm EIS, Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment v7 – 17 March 2021 are simply not true statements.
From the location of my dwelling we are approximately 4,km from the nearest turbine. My family and I will without a doubt be visually impacted by a minimum of 8 complete turbines and 11 partial turbines.
The impact on my family and my own health and lifestyle is an extreme concern for me living in a close proximity to 18 of the wind turbines.
My concerns are with noise emissions from the turbines in particular the thumping that can occur when the turbines are in sync causing sleep disturbances and health impacts due to this.
The morning sun will rise behind the turbines likely to cause sun flickering to our property and dwelling as most of my house windows face to the east with an open view in the direction of the Wind Turbines and morning sun.
4 km sounds like a long distance from my house dwelling but I can assure you this is not the case when I look out my living room window, it is not hard to visualise 220m Wind Turbines on the most dominant ridge line in our line of site from our home. The night light beacons will always remind us they are there with no reprieve from them 24/7.
At the base of the ridge that the Turbines will be erected is Muscle Creek, this creek runs through our property and community and is utilised for cattle and irrigation and my concern here is in the event of a turbine failing there would be potential for oil to contaminate the creek down hill from them.
We own a portion of land that we breed cattle on and spend most our days off outside enjoying one of the very few visually beautiful scenic areas left untouched in Muswellbrook. Muswellbrook is already exposed to Mining spoils from 4 seperate open cut mining leases in most directions.
To the South of Muswellbrook township we are exposed visually to the 340metre high mining spoils of Mt Arthur Coal an open cut coal mine, to the North of Muswellbrook township we are exposed visually to the spoils of Bengallla and Mt Pleasant Coal mine, and to the North/ East of Muswellbrook township we have Muswellbrook Coal, the coal mine that dust and spon com is a part of its visual effects. If you could only visualise yourself what this would look like, then add wind turbines to the Eastern ridges of the township and close communities the only spars area left without unnatural visual impacts.
This is already having a negative dividing effect amongst the residents of Muscle creek Community and the hosts of the project.
The fact that the Bowman Creek project application was well under way before surrounding communities were aware is really concerning. Not many people know or associate Muswellbrook with Bowman Creek as it is a tiny community outside of Muswellbrook towards Singleton. It felt as though this project was an attempt to sneak it through the back door with its Title alone. We were not directly notified by Epuron about the project as we were outside their 3km turbine zone (We are 3.1km away from the nearest turbine). We found out by word of mouth through some neighbours who caught wind of it from other community members.
A few members of neighbouring communities including McCully’s Gap towards Scone reached out to people through pamphlets and email to make surrounding properties and others aware of the project.
Many of us were dumb founded that the plan was so advanced without notice or understanding of the project yet objections are falling on deaf ears of our local council and upper hunter government representatives.
This whole project is a great concern for myself and my family. Our home is our sanctuary, we have an array of bird populations out here, the type of quietness that is only disturbed by the sounds of birds, frogs , cows and the occasional car that is travelling too and from there homes down the dead end road that is Muscle Creek Road. It is a beautiful area, one that I am proud to welcome friends and family to visit and enjoy. In my opinion and many others this will have a negative effect on the community visually and financially.
This project will potentially and very likely negatively effect the value of my property and dwelling, this is less a concern for me as the visual aspect but I’m afraid they will come hand in hand together if the project is approved. This is my home, the beautiful place I wish to retire, this is a life changing decision for us.
I again strongly object to the Bowman Creek Wind Farm project and I am pleading with you to not allow this project to go ahead.
Yours sincerely

I object this proposal as I live within the wind farm region and I do not want to see or have this project in this area due to environmental impacts. I believe that green energy to offset pollution still allows companies to polute without consequence.

I ‘object’ to the project as I live 4km from the nearest turbine and I believe this will impact my property visually. I believe this wind farm can potentially impact my health and property value.
This property will be passed onto me as I begin my adult life and I do not want them in my area
This area is beautiful and will be disrupted visually and environmentally.

I live in a rural area not far from this site.
I would hate to think that somebody could just move into my area and start putting up windfarms and receive no pushback.
These wind turbines take up a massive amount of room and they are disgusting to look at.
They are dangerous to large birds, which we have a lot of in the area.
The Hunter area is known for its abundant coal reserves and its coal fired power stations.
We are about to decommission a 2000 MW power station and try and replace it with wind turbines and solar panels.
Even if we were putting in 2 MW Wind turbines, you would need to put in 1000 of them to be the equivalent of one Liddell power station.
I believe that our children’s future is not one of abundant green energy, but one of a landscape strewn with broken down wind turbines and solar farms that have been destroyed from natural disasters or have been left to rot after their economic life has ended.
Whenever government seems to get involved in something they tend to have the opposite result.
I believe in trying to clean up the environment, the government will simply destroy it.
There is basically no government program that runs on time, under budget and to plan.
Massive projects like this should not be subsidised by the government and the government should have nothing to do with rejigging our electrical grid.

I object to the proposal of the wind farm due to the impacts that wind farms have on bird life.
I object to the wind farm on the grounds that wind farms do not produce a steady and constant flow of electricity
I object to the wind farm on the grounds that wind farms have not been proven to produce enough power to repay the energy taken to actually build the wind farm in the beginning.
I object to the wind farm as the materials used to build the wind farm aren't all recyclable.

My reasons for objecting to the project is as follows- I have been a Muswellbrook resident for 40+ years and I currently live within 3.1,km of the 3,km exclusion zone of the Wind Turbine project on the Muscle creek side of proposed Bowman Creek Wind farm Project. My property number is E17 -5 within the project Visual Assessment application (refer to pages 81-84). The evaluations on the pages 82- 84 of the Bowmans Creek Wind Farm EIS, Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment v7 – 17 March 2021 are simply not true statements.
Statements not limited too but including from the Evaluations column of the Visual Assessment application- “ Whilst wind turbines may be visible the potential for visual impact is not significant and largely mitigated by distance. The Bulletin acknowledges that wind turbines are very large structures that will be visible in the landscape.
Wind turbines are located beyond the black line at Far Middleground, therefore no mitigation measures are proposed below the black line”....
These Turbines are 220m high and certainly less than 4km away in direct line of sight from my dwelling and my neighbour. I do not have a tree nor does my neighbour that is 70m away from me have vegetation high enough to block the view of a minimum of 8 220m high wind turbines from my dwelling or any point of my property.

As well as being visually unappealing, the construction of wind turbines will have a huge negative impact on the environment. Damage to the land will occur, as well as damage to the roads due to high frequency of vehicles and trucks during construction and operation.
Wildlife habitats will be destroyed and animals killed from the construction and operation of turbines.
My sister-in-law, her husband, and four kids, moved to Muscle Creek, to escape busy town living and to raise their children in a safe, relaxing country environment. There son is vision impaired (blind) however his other senses are increased and he has extremely high sense of sound. If wind turbines were to be constructed in such close proximity to there property, the sound pollution caused from the turbines would cause unwarranted anxiety and loss of sleep from there son, impacting on the whole family.
In conclusion, I strongly object to the construction of a Wind Farm at Bowmans Creek, (Muscle Creek, Muswellbrook), as it will have a considerably huge negative impact to the environment, wildlife and human health.
