Mod 3 - Road Haulage to the West

I am opposed to the proposed transport of coal through the Mt Victoria and Hartley Valley areas. There is easy access for this coal to be transported via the train line, which would take the coal from the mine to the destination with no detriment to the local community. It seems a dangerous suggestion to want to add more trucks to what is known to be one of the most dangerous stretches of road in NSW, the Victoria Pass, as well as unnecessary to add to the already heavy truck use of the Great Western Highway through the Hartley Valley. This area suffers greatly from the noise and pollution of frequent truck use; to propose a significant increase shows a lack of concern for the local environment and its people. I am deeply opposed to this Road Haulage Proposal.

I am opposed to the suggested haulage through Hartley Valley. The noise level of trucks already keeps locals awake as it is. The road kill each morning along the highway, between Lithgow and Mt Victoria is atrocious and very sad (including rare wallabies). Please use the railways as an alternative option.
