Thank you for your notification dated 18 June, posted 21 June and received by us 25 June regarding this proposed modification.
The Department is well aware of the sleep deprivation and impacts on our night time amenity relating to the evolution of Barangaroo south.
We are concerned that this modification, particularly as it requires additional work on the stormwater infrastructure will result in a flurry of the all too frequent approved out of hours work related to Barangaroo South that impact us. We ask the Department to factor into its determination the need for assurances that any out of hours work resulting from this modification are kept to a minimum and that all mechanical equipment that may be required to operate overnight is properly attenuated and attenuated within the areas it is located to mitigate intrusive low frequency noise impacts. We ask that this request is not disregarded or dismissed.
We also offer the following comments.
Lighting proposed for the area should ensure the effect does not turn the night time into day when viewing the area from an elevated position.
Given the number of fig trees proposed that there will be controls to ensure that bats do not take up residence.
Our submission raises concerns rather than objects.
