To whom it may concern, I am writing on behalf or my husband and myself, concerned residents of western Sydney and parents of 5 children about the proposed building of a large incinerator in Eastern Creek. We object to the building of this incinerator mainly and amongst other reasons, the ill and adverse effects on health of those living nearby. Our children go to a school within 10km of the site and my parents live even closer! It doesn't take a scientist to know that when you have emissions of toxic metals such as arsenic, mercury and cadmium and more than 200 organic chemicals, including known carcinogens, mutagens, and hormone disrupters as well as other unidentified compounds whose potential for harm is unknown can cause problems in our health. The nearest densely populated area of Minchinbury is only 800m away from the site and within 5km of our main water supply Prospect Reservoir. We cannot comprehend why the proposed site was even considered when it is clearly a budding residential area. We've had enough problems in this country with BHP Steelworks having been linked to cases of cancer. There is no need for more lives to be put in danger because of a callous ambition for more money of a man, Ian Malouf (who has been known to have multiple infringements against EPA), who has no conscience and no obvious care for the residents of Western Sydney. Please stop this proposition which will prove lethal to the lives of my husband, our 5 precious children, myself and all of the residents concerned. Thank you for your time.
