Official Caution issued to Roberts Co (NSW) Pty Ltd (SSD-9343, City of Ryde LGA)

On 16 August 2021, the Department issued an Official Caution to Roberts Co (NSW) Pty Ltd (Roberts Co) for failing to comply with approved construction hours at the Meadowbank Education and Employment Precinct Schools Project. Roberts Co permitted works to occur past 6pm on 27 November 2020, 10 February, 18 February, 7 April and 21 May 2021, causing noise disturbances to neighbouring residents and resulting in several complaint to the Department. The approved weekday construction hours are between 7am and 6pm, or until 7pm provided noise levels do not exceed the existing background noise level by 5 dB, or in an emergency to avoid loss of life, damage to property or to prevent environmental harm, or where works are inaudible at the nearest sensitive receivers. An investigation by the Department found that works on 27 November 2020, 10 February, 18 February, 7 April and 21 May 2021 past 6pm did not meet the above criteria. Compliance with approved construction hours helps to minimise the impact on surrounding residents and protect the amenity of the area.

I think my wife has nailed our concerns. We are convinced that converting Forsyth Street into a Cul-de-sac at the Victoria Road end would ease alot of traffic that we have taken on from overdevelpoment and changing Bowden Street from Top Ryde into no right turn onto Vic Road. That change alone has compounded our traffic and conjestion problem ten fold.
In regard to the attached article from 2007. Please have a read and pay much attention to tafe parking spots and the problems we had12 years ago. From what we have seen parking spaces in tafe and the new schools are miniscule and much less than were there back in 2007!! BACKWARDS. NOT HAPPY

I am a young student who knows only too well the problems the overdevelopment and lack of substantial traffic infrastructure have created for our area.
Before any of this future development commences you need to address the problems we are already faced with on a daily basis.
Reinstate right turn onto Victoria Road from Bowden Street. Overflow of that traffic is presently funnelled into Macpherson then down Forsyth.
Cul-de-sac at the end of Forsyth Street is essential in reducing conjestion and the daily rat runs we have here and make our homes a safer place to live.
Bus stops in front of the substation in Macpherson Street is rediculous. Dangerous and terribly busy as it is. Bad idea. You cant even cross the road as it is. Common sense should prevail and have the kids dropped off in Rhodes Street in front of the schools. That is a long stretch of Road and a bus bay should be implemented there.
My bedroom is on the cnr of Forsyth and Macpherson. The noise now is very bad. I am a uni student and my anxiety levels have been elevated to extreme already with the daily traffic and noise, semis, trucks, and other heavy vehicles. You want to put bus stops across the road as well.Pathetic and a bad decision
