Mod 4 - Rail Infrastructure

The Mt Pleasant Operation is important to the Muswellbrook Mens Shed Inc,
not only as a financial supporters of our charity, but as a genuine
advocate to our charter being Mens Health in the Muswellbrook
District. As a local registered charity we rely heavily upon the
mining industry for its support in turn supporting the local
community. Muswellbrook Mens Shed and its members are supporters of
sustainable futures in NSW and Australia and we will support any good
environmental outcomes particularly relating to the local mining
industry. We have thoroughly gone through the MOD4 application and can
state that we strongly support the application in a number of
important key areas that effect not just our organisation but also
that of the local residential and business community. Wybong Road will
not be impacted by the rail line designed by MACH therefore keeping
the Wybong Road open to local rural residents and their access to the
town of Muswellbrook. It is noted that a proposed overpass is planned
for this access to remain available to the local community. We as an
organisation fully understand the importance of being able to operate
in an unimpeded way to maximise benefits, whilst still being
competitive and operational to service the needs of the local
community, this also applies to Mt Pleasant's MOD4 application in so
far as approval for the MOD4 will give certainty to both Mt Pleasant
and Bengalla Coal and will allow both enterprises the opportunity to
continue operations unimpeded, of which can only result in maximising
the benefits to our organisation and the local community and to NSW by
having separate enterprise working side by side benefiting the
community and community organisations not only financially but also
economically in keeping the local area alive in business, employment,
infrastructure, community and community organisation support. On
reading through the Environmental Assessment we note that there is a
good environmental outcome delivered through the new proposed
infrastructure of which we fully support as advocate of environmental
and sustainable issues in our local community.
