It is extraordinary that this project is suggesting an extra 30 copter flights per day over the WHA (World Heritage Area) of the BMNP.
The peace and tranquility of the BMNPWHA will inevitably be adversely affected by this number of flights. The benefits seem to accrue only to the passengers being afforded the luxury of a high speed visit to the Wolgan, and to a corporate Airline wishing to increase profitability of it's bottom line and provide greater returns to their investors.

I am unclear without trawling through all of the portals online documents which exact routes are proposed, and at what altitudes these copters will be allowed to operate at. I can see though that daily helicopter trips – increase to a total of 15 trips per day (15 in, 15 out); and weekly helicopter trips – increase to a total of 105 trips per week (105 in, 105 out) are proposed.
Such an operational increase will clearly have a detrimental impact on fauna thus affected, not to mention the impact of such regular copter trips above affected neighbourhoods in the Blue Mountains villages.

Their also appears to be some reasoning that the road closure of Wolgan Gap Road warrants an increase in these copter flights, the road appears scheduled to reopen for 2WD by August 2026 which surely pre-empts such necessity for increased copter flights. Emirates would have been well aware when first receiving planning (2006?) for the Wolgan Valley resort that locating this place in the somewhat remote valley would be prone to heavy weather patterns affecting the landscape, and not expect just to throw heavy duty solutions such as more & more copters to solve the problem. Once given to increase the number of flights, Emirates will no doubt request further increases when other climate related obstacles are presented in the future.
