I am writing in response to the proposed Solar Farm Development, Application #SSD-9619 on the New England Highway. We are a neighbouring property to this proposed development. As discussed, we did not receive the initial request for submissions as correspondence was forwarded to our residential address rather than our postal address.
We are opposed to this development with our concerns listed below:

1. In the past we have been significantly impacted by the Transgrid High Voltage Powerline going through our property. We were told they would maintain roads, undertake weed control, notify us when people are coming and going and put in place bio-security measures to prevent the spread of weeds eg wash-down bays for vehicles coming and leaving the property. None of this has occurred. We have now been advised that the line has been sold and none of the above measures will be undertaken. Consequently we are cautious with these type of developments and the impact it has on the landowner.
It is our experience, and that of many others along the power line, that energy development enterprises are extremely profitable for all other stakeholders at the expense of the land owner or neighbouring properties. The current proposal states that no additional power line infrastructure will be built at this stage.
Can you please confirm what is proposed for the future in our area and will there be additional high voltage power lines built in our area or across our property?

2. Property value on farms that neighbour the solar farm and view the infrastructure will be adversely impacted. This will inadvertently affect the value of our property.
Has any consideration been given to formal compensation to neighbouring properties to address the impact this will have on property values in the area?

3. We are located in a fire prone area.
What impact will this proposal have in relation to fire threat etc?

4. We are opposed to the use of agricultural-zoned quality farming and grazing land being used for solar farms.
There is considerable poorer quality land available, has consideration been given to constructing the solar farms on poorer quality land rather than high value farming land?

5. It is our understanding that Enerparc Australia is a foreign owned company. Although we are not opposed to foreign companies operating in Australia, we are opposed in principle to foreign ownership of Australia's essential services.

We look forward to your response and further discussion relating to these matters and questions.
