Submission for: Inland Rail Parkes to Narromine
Peak Hill, New South Wales
My house block at which I reside is less than 100 metres to the railway line in question as well as one of the closest houses to the level crossing (Whitton Park Rd Peak Hill).
While in general favour of the project as a whole I am concerned about the possible noise of the faster, more frequent trains proposed as well as the possibility of boom gates, bells and whistles one would expect as a safety aspect for the crossing.
Dense foliage as well as installation of shutters / double glazing on the two back bedroom windows may be required if the level of noise and vibration becomes intolerable. Any advice or assistance would be appreciated in this regard.
