The Rooty Hill High School Student Representative Council would like to make a submission on behalf of our school and our learning neighbourhood primary schools. The student body at RHHS understands the need to find alternative sources of energy into the future. While the need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions is high, our SRC is still worried about the changes that may occur in the air quality in and around Blacktown. It is unclear as to how the facility will ensure the health of the residents of Blacktown, specifically young people. The production of jobs from the plant will benefit the community but there will be increased traffic and resources being used in and around the area that may have an impact on the daily life of residents.
Year 9 Science at RHHS focuses on renewable sources of energy and would be interested in having a spokesperson attend the school to explain more about the inner workings of the facility. Year 11 Biology also explore our local ecosystem and form part of the group concerned with our this change may affect water quality and organisms that rely on the creek for food and shelter.
RHHS welcomes feedback and further consultation on this issue.

There will be reduced air quality due to the toxic emmissions. These particles will be impossible to see but will greatly affect the air quality in the Sydney Basin.

We have days of high pollution in Western Sydney and this will make it worse.

Nepean hospital has the highest rate of childhood asthma and can barely cope as it is.

It is close to Prospect reservoir

The owner has a lhistory of EPA breaches and cannot be trusted to obey regulations.

The owner states.... the proposed Facility may release substances which have the potential to harm human health. The health of western Sydney residents is as important as those in the east.

The areas most drastically affected by this proposal are in high residential areas and include schools.

Incinerators & their technology are being phased out in Europe - This is NOT the way forward, nor is it clean or green!

I object! No! No! No!
I already suffer from asthma!
I live within 3 km of the proposed sight. The stench and plastic bag fences were bad enough
The raceway already provides noise pollution etc
This method is a huge step backwards in terms of clean air. There must be a better way! Find it, please

I oppose the proposed waste facility for Eastern Creek.

The residents of Erskine Park and St Clair will be significantly impacted in air quality should this development be approved.

The current and future development of the Eastern Creek and Erskine Park precincts along with the Badgerys Creek Airport will have a cumulative impact on air quality. Noise and Light pollution is also impacting the surrounding residential zones.

The residents in the suburbs surrounding these areas will be greatly impacted over time.

A new energy and waste facility at Easter Creek should not be allowed. I have lived in the local area for the past 10 years and it is a growers area. With all the new roads and light industrial the quality of air and greenhouse omissions is getting worse. Please do not make the quality of fresh and unpolluted air less, please think of the next generation, and trying to have a healthy lifestyle if it is only going to be more polluted.

I am object due to concerns on health reasons. This is going to cause massive health issues and the owners should be held liable to all future compensation claims regarding the decline in health of surrounding residents

I am opposed to this development within such a developed area for the health and well being of residents in surrounding suburbs. Take it to an area that has no development

Waste incineration is NOT the state of modern waste treatment! It creates toxic fumes in an already polluted area.
There was little done to REDUCE the waste - or why do we still have disposable glass bottles or disposable soft drink cans? Why are we using technologies of the last century, namely the seveties instead of a more modern treatment of waste?
Apart from that waste incineration is NOT energy efficient (as soon as air is filtered thre is no net production in energy) and they are NOT cost efficient either.
Before implementing such an outdated technology please have a look how other countries treat their waste namely Netherland, Switzerland, austria and Germany.

Health and Environmental impacts of an incinerator in a residential area is outrageous. The fact that the development is being considered is concerning.
