Beverly Hills Town Centre (West)

About the proposal

Beverly Hills has long been earmarked as an area for renewal, with planning investigations dating back to the 1990s.

The Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure has prepared a State Assessed Rezoning Proposal supported by detailed urban design analysis and technical studies.

Key features

The proposal could deliver:

• around 800 new homes, including a 2 per cent affordable housing contribution, or equivalent monetary contribution, phased in over time, close to public transport
• building heights ranging from 15 to 22 storeys
• approximately 191 local jobs through new retail and commercial opportunities
• enhanced public spaces and pedestrian connections, including potential for new through-site links to improve access and activity across the precinct.

Detailed flood modelling and other technical assessments have informed the proposal. These studies found future development can be accommodated through appropriate design measures while addressing key considerations such as flooding, traffic and infrastructure capacity.

Future development would also contribute to local and state infrastructure through established planning contribution frameworks.

Community consultation

The Beverly Hills Town Centre (West) proposal was on public exhibition from 24 July 2026 to 10 September 2026.  

Community members were invited to review the exhibition materials and provide feedback during the exhibition period.  

The Department hosted a community drop-in information session on Wednesday 5 August 2026, providing an opportunity for community members to speak directly with the project team and ask questions about the proposal.

All submissions received during exhibition are being considered as part of the assessment process, and will inform next steps.
