This Rezoning Proposal seeks to amend planning controls within the Sydney Local Environmental Plan 2012 to unlock approximately 3,300 new social, affordable and market homes at Waterloo Estate (South).
The proposal is being assessed at the same time as the Waterloo Estate (South) Concept State Significant Development Application and was on public exhibition between Wednesday, 6 May and Tuesday, 2 June 2026.
The Department is now reviewing all the submissions provided throughout the public exhibition period. If required, changes will be made to the rezoning proposal and concept application in response to this feedback, and before final consideration and determination. This is expected to occur in late 2026.
