Proposal:
The proposal seeks to amend the Cumberland Local Environmental Plan 2021 (CLEP 2021) for the Westmead South precinct. This would increase housing supply and diversity, provide retail and commercial opportunities, set development parameters for the new Metro site, protect heritage items and area character, plan local infrastructure for future population growth, and coordinate affordable housing provision.
The proposal aligns with the Westmead 2036 Place Strategy which identifies Westmead South as an opportunity for housing supply.
