Transport and Infrastructure SEPP amendments
The Transport and Infrastructure SEPP (T&ISEPP) sets out the planning rules and controls for infrastructure in NSW.
The department regularly reviews and updates the T&ISEPP to make sure the planning rules support improvements to infrastructure in NSW.
As part of these ongoing improvements, the NSW Government proposed changes to definitions and assessment for some types of infrastructure.
Some of these proposed changes were made in the State Environmental Planning Policy Amendment (Miscellaneous) (No 2) 2022. That SEPP made amendments to:
- streamline planning approval pathways for parks and playgrounds
- provide a new planning pathway to support landscape rehydration projects
- provide more efficient planning assessment requirements for upgrades to existing water treatment facilities
- support expedited delivery of school infrastructure and transport operations
- make other improvements to miscellaneous infrastructure provisions.
An explanation of intended effect (EIE) and maps were exhibited from 15/12/2021 to 11/02/2022 to provide further details of some of the changes and the benefits. Exhibited versions can be found below – for information only.
