Consistency statement

Why complete a consistency statement?

A completed consistency statement (see below) must accompany the notification required by the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2000 for essential infrastructure accessing the Cumberland Plan Conservation Plan (CPCP) Part 10 approval under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act (EPBC Act).

This report template will assist with providing the necessary information when notifying the Department of Planning and Environment.

For more information, visit the CPCP planning controls webpage.

Before starting your application

'Essential infrastructure' is defined in Section 2.2 of the CPCP Guidelines for Infrastructure Development.

Is the infrastructure consistent with the definition of ‘essential infrastructure’?

The infrastructure is not eligible to access the Part 10 approval for the CPCP under Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (Cth). Essential infrastructure must be consistent with Section 2.2 and/or Section 2.3 of the CPCP Guidelines for Infrastructure Development.

You may need to seek a separate approval under Part 9 of the EPBC Act for impacts on matters of national environmental significance (MNES).
