Bankstown is an Accelerated Precinct under the Transport Oriented Development Program (TOD).
Prepared by the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (the Department), the rezoning builds on the vision of the Bankstown City Centre Master Plan adopted by the City of Canterbury Bankstown Council in 2021 and provides capacity for more homes close to the new Bankstown Metro station.
The Department worked in close consultation with Canterbury-Bankstown Council and other state government agencies to prepare this rezoning.
The draft proposal was available for public feedback between 16 July and 30 August 2024. The feedback received during the exhibition period has been considered in the final rezoning.
The Bankstown rezoning is now finalised. For more information on the project, visit Bankstown TOD rezoning.
