I request that you consider installation of a noise wall along the eastern side of the existing highway next to the golf course at Opal Cove Resort. The new wall would alleviate the impact of noise on my property at 6 Ainslie Road Korora NSW and any increased noise impacts when the bypass is complete. For your reference I have attached a document with screenshots which show the location of my property at 6 Ainslie Road Korora on a map and in a photo. The third screenshot zooms in on the relevant section where I ask for a noisewall to be placed and contains coordinates.
The new wall is to prevent noise (particularly air brake truck noise) from the highway over the golfing greens towards Korora, which affects my property and the properties in-between mine and the highway. The noise travels easily over the golfing green towards Norman Hill Drive and Ainslie Road as well as Bruce Taylor Circuit which is even more adversely affected because it sits higher than Ainslie Road. Also, the third picture in the atatched shows that there are a number of townhouses at Shearwater Place to the north of my property nearer to that section of the highway which I am aware are massively affected by existing road noise, because I know of owners who have sold their properties due to the adverse noise impacts at night of airbrakes. When the bypass opens the noise impacts on those and my property will increase due to increased traffic flow, so this is an opportunity to address the issue.
There are also many properties at Bruce Taylor Circuit which your noise mapping shows as affected by noise that will benefit from a noise wall in this location. If you installed a noise wall in this location along the highway it could also result in a costs saving, in that a wall there will reduce noise from the highway over the golfing greens and hence the need for noise attenuation measures at the properties that I have referred to.
Please consider this submission favourably.
Regards
Councillor Michael Adendorff

I support the above project as an important piece if Infrastructure. In the case of the Noise Assessment there are areas which I consider are defficient and require additional work. The attached letter outlines these issues.

It's reassuring to finally see that tunnels and a lower bypass profile are finally part of the proposed bypass design, however I would like to see clarification/action on the following items:
1. A CONSTRUCT ONLY contract to ensure that the design displayed to Coffs residents will accurately reflect what is actually built.
2. An INDEPENDENT NOISE AUDIT to confirm (or accurately reflect) the existing baseline noise levels used in the EIS.
3. Significant (world's best practice) noise mitigation measures introduced throughout the entire project - PARTICULARLY IN THE ROSELANDS ESTATE area.
4. Noise mitigation measures applied to houses PRIOR to commencement of construction.
5. A REDESIGN OF CORAMBA INTERCHANGE to reduce the footprint, lower the profile and minimise the impact on nearby residents, i.e. a 'doughnut' design.
It is important to acknowledge that this project will influence the Coffs Community for decades to come. Decisions today, based on quality and not just funding will ensure that the project's influence is positive and welcomed.
Please don't take shortcuts in design on this important project.
