my residence is one of the closest to the proposed mining operation, and I strongly object to the proposal on the grounds of -
traffic- the intersection proposed is far too close to rosemount rd and an existing bend in the highway making it dangerous for local traffic including school buses. if the thirty laden trucks have trailers attached, they will be slower entering and exiting, being a 100kph stretch of highway makes it extremely dangerous.
noise - the noise of trucks coming and going, dozers, diggers, crushing machines and blasting etc will diminish the quality of life for all local residents.
dust - we and all local residents are on tank water. the health risk of contaminating our water supply and inhalation of dust particles is too great to ignore.
vibration - structural damage to the house and surrounding buildings is a real threat from blasting.
stud - I run an equine breeding establishment on my property and fear loss of income.
nobody wants to lock themselves in their house running expensive air conditioners to escape noise and pollution that wasn't there originally.

Our business is is situated very close to the proposed development. Our major concerns are dust, noise and traffic interaction at the Dowendee and golden high way entrance.
.Noise. In the past 2 years some work has be performed in the vicinity of the proposed quarry and the noise was very evident at our cottages this work was done only for a short duration during day light hours. I have concerns if heavy machinery is going to operate for the hours stated in the submission it will have a serious impact on our business.

Dust. My main concern is dust from the haul road being blown towards the cottages when wind conditions are trending our way.
We already suffer from dust coming from a large coal mine that borders Dowendee.

Traffic interaction. The proposed entry point to the proposed quarry will see empty trucks coming from Denman crossing the busy Goldern Highway just near a bend.we have lived and operated our business for over 18 years and have witnessed a number of accidents on this stretch of road, on one occasion a BDouble was slowing to turn left off the Golden High way onto
Rosemount road when a car ran into the rear of the truck resulting in a fatality. The Rosemount intersection is only approximately 500 meters further along from the proposed intersection and is very close to the bend, unless major road works and proper turning lanes are done I have grave concerns we will see more traffic incidents on this stretch of road.

I am not against new businesses opening up in our area as they bring bring new opportunities for employment and support for the community. I can see this development offering those opportunities and in return other businesses in the area will benefit but the concerns I have mentioned if not addressed could see our business close thus affecting a number of businesses we support.

I have concerns this proposed development will seriously impact our accommodation business with noise emanating from the quarry taking away the serenity that our guest enjoy at the moment.
A increase in dust particles leaving the proposed quarry and haul road and falling within the area of our cottages under a trending north easterly wind will have a serious affect on the quality of our tank water that we use for our business needs.

The traffic interaction with large trucks entering and exiting the proposed Quarry at the Golden High Way intersection will create a serious risk to all users of the High way as it is a narrow section of road and the proposed intersection is close to a bend we have have witnessed a number of minor and serious accidents on this stretch of road in the 18 years we have lived at Carellen.
I believe if this proposed development is given approval it will be detrimental to our business and will lower the resale value of our business and other properties in the area.
