Elizabeth Enterprise Precinct - Stage 1

We have read the EIS provided on this project.

As an owner of an adjoining property we would have expected to be consulted in the preparation of this EIS. No contact was made by the proponent or their consultants.

Our site houses the second largest animal shelter in NSW. It is a critical piece of social infrastructure.

We have a number of concerns with the proposal; namely:

We were not contacted as part of the stakeholder and community engagement process;
The noise from the project during construction and then the operations of the site may impact on the behaviour (and quality of life) of animals under our care.
Traffic associated with the site during construction and operations may impact on safe access to our site.
Hours of operation for the proposed site will be important when it is completed as it has the potential to cause disturbances to animals.

We do not necessarily want to stop an important piece of State Significant Infrastructure but we are concerned that there may be externalities generated from this site that will negatively impact on the use of our site and they should be addressed prior to approval.

I support the strategic intent of the Elizabeth Enterprise Precinct Stage 1 to deliver new jobs near Western Sydney Airport, but encourage the proposal to go further in promoting industry diversity, public transport access, green space, and local employment outcomes. With improvements to environmental design, worker amenity, and economic inclusion, this development can become a model for a sustainable, high-value employment hub in Greater Western Sydney.
