Dear Government,
I am writing to formally object to the proposed expansion of the RE Group recycling facility.
As a nearby resident, I have experienced firsthand the ongoing impacts this facility has on our neighbourhood. The constant humming noise from the factory is noticeable throughout the day and night, making it difficult to enjoy our homes and affecting our health and quality of life.
In addition to the noise, there has been an increase in rodents in the surrounding area, which raises serious concerns about hygiene and public health. The odour coming from the facility is also overwhelming. It is a persistent smell of damp cardboard mixed with what can only be described as rotten milk. On many days, the stench is so strong that residents are unable to comfortably spend time outdoors or open their windows.
With homes located within approximately 60 metres of the facility, I believe this industrial operation is simply too close to residential properties. Expanding the site will only increase the existing problems and further impact the health, wellbeing, and amenity of the families who live nearby.
I ask the NSW Government to carefully consider the cumulative effects of noise, odour, pests, and the proximity of the facility to homes before making any decision. The wellbeing of residents should be given the highest priority, and I strongly urge all bodies to reject the proposed expansion or require significant measures to address these ongoing issues before any approval is considered.
