I support Grants Rd Sand's Quarry Extension application (NO 08_0099)
We currently employ a total of 17 staff and are customers of Grants Rd Sand. We purchase products such as washed sand , retaining wall rock, mortar sand, sawn sandstone logs and blocks for the use of domestic, civil and commercial projects. The extension will ensure an ongoing supply of sand and sandstone products to the Central Coast, Sydney and Newcastle area.
The quarry extension will:
* guarantee local jobs not only within the quarry but also to subcontractors and continued services associated with the Quarry
* provide construction material readily available and close to the markets of the Greater Sydney, Central Coast and Newcastle metropolitan areas.
* ensure competition in the supply of quarried products.
* secure the supply of much needed construction sand and associated products such as sandstone blocks and logs for the Central Coast, Sydney and Newcastle area
* allow an existing quarry with existing infrastructure to continue providing a much needed resource
*enable sandstone blocks to be exported into the world market and earn valuable export dollars
I urge you to approve the application for Grants Rd Sand to expand their quarry and continue to provide a much needed resource for construction in the Central Coast, Sydney and Newcastle area. This will also provide economic benefits to diverse other businesses within the local area.
I also declare that I have not made any political donations in the past two years nor am I an associate of the applicant.
Regards

Dear Sir
I Support the Grants Rd Sands Extension Application No08-0099.
I am a neighbour TO the Applicant and I share a boundary with the Quarry I have known the applicant and his family for over 40 years as a neighbour during that time we have always have had exultant relations. during that time the Jones have run a chicken growing business and more recently the sand and cut rock quarry in each they have always conducted themselves in a competent and professional manner
The Quarry is ideally situated in many respects
1) it is at the end of the subdivision area i.e. away from most people
2) It is in an area where other quarry exist i.e.conforms to existing activity.
3)Has proved it self to be viable assert to the community i.e. providing a much needed product to local and Sydney markets
4) provides a sustainable business that supports local employment and other business contractors.
I strongly urge you to approve the application to extend and expand family business.
Sincerely
Charles Sammut

Dear M/s Giblett,
We wish to support the Grants Road Sand's Quarry Extension application (No. 08_0099)
We have purchased mortar sand from that Company for use in our own domestic project. The granting of the extension will ensure a continuation of the supply of sand and sandstone products to the Central Coast, Sydney and Newcastle area from a Company with an excellent reputation.
By increasing the size of the quarry it is felt there will be a continuance and, even more understandably, an increase in the local jobs not just within the actual quarry itself but also a likeliehood of further employment opportunities engendered and gained as the quarry continues its supply of more of its quality materials to businesses in the area. We are aware that those markets extend from Sydney in the south to Newcastle in the north and all points in between.
The quality of the materials quarried in Grants Road is such that it has been used to renovate and re-furbish heritage buildings in Sydney and Newcastle
We urge you to approve the application for Grants Road Sand to expand their quarry and continue to provide a much needed resource for construction in the Central Coast, Sydney and Newcastle area. This will also provide economic benefits to other businesses within the local area.
We also declare that we have never made any political donations whatsoever.
Yours faithfully,
Anthony and Jeanette Thorrington
