You Could not pick a worse place for a major Lithium-Ion Battery installation
After perusing the EIS documents and non-committal NSWSFR response that Suggested that the Fire safety Study For this BESS should be carried out. I Was not able to locate that recommended Study.
Only Planages BESS study, which also highlight the need for FSS and critically doesn’t comment on Lithium-Ion vs use of any other Battery formula.
Assumes that the Proponent is aware of the Risk of this Battery formula and adopted it because of Efficiency of that Battery formula in this situation , perhaps because they Don’t want too!

Living with the risk in a Transport infrastructure and ecological dense environment .
So given that the storage site is for Lithium-Ion storage battery farm. These type of battery storages are potentially a significant hazard to humans who would be exposed to the consequences of Thermal runaway fire.
Given that the site is at a major transport interchange and next to DFO a major Retail centre the choice of lithium-Ion is questionable one. Given the effects of uncontained fire.
So far, we had Battery fires involving Lithium-Ion Battery farms, but these where at a less critical location.

So, I am not against the site for Battery Farm. It is a good choice.
But I am against the use of Lithium-ion battery formula at this site.
It would be prudent If this site was to be used some other less potentially Toxic Formula of Storage Battery.
real option is to let it burn and hope to contain the event to one bank of batteries.
Given that No amount of water going to do anything.
Potential of Air and water contamination but spread the chemical cocktail in Saleyards & Powells creek and the Homebush Bay Ecological environment.

Potential Transport impacts
The Location will in event of a fire potentially lead to the closure the M4 or Homebush Bay Drive given the winds at the time the Closure could also include Parramatta Road and T1,T2 train lines. Also given if it’s a westerly wind also the M4 Tunnel.
So, this impact could not be for a limited period, as decontamination of tunnel ventilation M4 and Indeed the Metro west Tunnel.

Potential Population Impacts
The population of surrounding area also impacted. Given DFO is next door.
Decontamination of DFO Air conditioning and various houses adjoining the Creek and of North Strathfield / Homebush.
The Sydney Markets site would be in the impact zone too.
That's an extensive and expensive Unsafe zones.

Batteries in a city are particularly problematic as they are made with PFAS. They have an elevated fire risk. Fires cannot be extinguished with water and will produce a toxic smoke plume exceeding 10 kilometers until it burns itself out.

I am writing to express my strong support for the proposed Homebush Battery Energy Storage System (the Project) in my local community. As a resident of the area, I believe that the Project will bring numerous benefits, both in terms of environmental sustainability and economic development.

As we continue to prioritise renewable energy sources, the implementation of energy storage solutions is crucial to ensuring a reliable and efficient energy grid. The ability to store surplus energy from renewable sources, such as solar and wind, will help balance supply and demand, reduce energy waste, and increase grid stability. This, in turn, will lead to a cleaner and more resilient energy grid.

Additionally, the Project has the potential to create new local jobs during construction, maintenance, and operation, attract investment to the local area, and ensure lasting benefits for the community through a VPA or equivalent mechanism for the life of the Project.

I also understand that the Project will provide significant cost savings by reducing the need for expensive and unreliable peaking power plants, which often rely on fossil fuels, and assist with meeting Australia’s 20230 and 2050 net-zero emission targets at the lowest cost to consumers within a realistic timeframe. This can help reduce energy costs for residents and businesses, supporting affordability and sustainability in the community.

I fully support the careful planning and development of the Project and encourage all stakeholders to continue working together to make this important Project a reality. I believe it will be a significant step forward for both the local economy and the
environment.

Contamination and Waste Management are issues that are being swept under the carpet. It’s time government stop putting renewable targets ahead of the nation’s public health and food security. Please refer to attachment for details:

Despite decades of rolling out wind and solar plants in many countries the CO2 emissions still rise every year. Wind and solar projects, including this proposed stand alone BESS project, just make no difference. This BESS will increase atmospheric CO2 and increase our NEM electricity system costs to me and other end consumers. I object to any project that costs me heaps for no benefit at all. Don't approve this useless project!
I oppose this project because the supply chain involves the use of slave labour. Cobalt and copper artisanal mining relies in slave labour in the DRC and the production of components in China uses slave labour. Stop these degrading projects.

I object to the proposed Homebush BESS Works in this project because there are still so many unresolved concerns about risks and issues involved with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), for instance:
1. Lack of research into the life-cycle of BESS
2. Resource intensive requirements
3. Involves slavery in mining and production
4. Environmentally damaging
5. Fire starting risks increased
6. Fire-fighting dangers increased
7. Local fire risks considerably increased
8. Expensive
9. Short life-span
10. Variable operation
11. Very little Australian content
12. Increased energy and sovereign risks
13. Roads and road travel are impacted
14. Electricity charging and air-conditioning requirements are high
15. Classed as hazardous goods
16. No certainty at end of the short life of a BESS or frequent battery/inverter replacements
17. Increased dependency on intermittent electricity generation
18. Poor viability
19. Increase retail electricity prices.

This is an Explosion Hazard in a densely populated zone & an Energy Poverty - National Security Disaster - with NO benefits whatsoever to Australia.
Why are Authorities so desperate to ensure harm to Australians - illogically depriving us of our own FAR SUPERIOR, RELIABLE, AFFORDABLE, SECURE, 24/7 AUSTRALIAN POWER & so keen to ensure our Electricity Grid is CONtaminated with & CONtrolled by the CCP - our most hostile enemy’s FAKE GREEN SWINDLE FACTORIES??

Installing a known fire- and explosion-prone lithium-ion battery system near businesses, homes, and major traffic corridors is grossly negligent.
In the event of thermal runaway, life-threatening toxic smoke could blanket nearby suburbs, while fire suppression is virtually impossible.

Homebush BESS is an inexcusable Public Health gamble!
This BESS would emit deadly fluorinated gases during fires, known to cause irreversible respiratory and neurological damage.
For Ausgrid to site this in a populated, high-traffic region is a reckless assault on public health under the guise of "green infrastructure."

It’s totally unethical & wrong that the RUIN-A-BULL SWINDLE is reliant on hostile supply chains & is complicit in the abuse of little children as young as 6 years old - forced to mine with their bare hands in toxic & torturous conditions under the control of the CCP in the Congo & elsewhere.

How come the Government are so addicted to these unethical practices & why do they disingenuously pretend they are virtuous when filthy Lithium-ion BESS are SO dangerous, hazardous and poisonous?

Building a BESS here would make us complicit in child labour, resource imperialism, and foreign economic coercion.

Homebush BESS is nothing but a $30 Million market manipulation device.
This isn’t clean energy—it’s a glorified arbitrage machine, charging off cheap coal or solar and reselling during artificial peaks.
The public pays higher electricity rates while Ausgrid profits off scarcity that it helps engineer.

It’s totally illogical & foolhardy to plan a big BESS Fire Hazard next to fuel and freight corridors - unless of course this is designed to deliberately harm Australia - which the whole ‘renewable’ CON treacherously appears to be!

This facility sits near major fuel transport corridors, and containerized BESS fires have already burned uncontrollably for days in other jurisdictions.

A flashover event here would cause chaos, shut down the M4, and endanger thousands.

Homebush BESS plan ensures cyber warfare in urban Sydney.
With hostile foreign entities dominating the BESS supply chain, the risk of embedded sabotage—remote overheating, shutdown, or data extraction—is very real.
This is critical infrastructure likely to be weaponised on our own soil.

This short-term Lithium-ion Battery would cause irreversible, long-term damage and never generate any power.

The publicly subsidised Homebush $30+ Million BESS rip-off has a lifespan of just 8–12 years—after which it becomes hazardous e-waste.

The environmental and financial cost of decommissioning, toxic residue cleanup, and replacement is prohibitively costly and unaccounted for in Ausgrid's PR spin.

This battery is all about deliberate price engineering.
It won’t ever lower prices as it’s designed to profit from the artificial scarcity it helps create by hoarding energy until peak pricing hits.

Australian consumers, businesses and industry will suffer greatly and shoulder these unnecessary, unjust, elevated costs for decades - just so the greedy vested interests can make a motzer by ripping us off with their fake green scam.

Extremely toxic, Fire hazardous Homebush Lithium-ion BESS is incapable junk with a multitude of detrimental impacts.
This Bis-FASI contaminant does not belong anywhere - let alone in the vicinity of homes, schools, workplaces and major traffic routes.

Thousands of people live, work, drive and attend school near this site.
No lithium-ion battery facility should be placed near urban centres or in rural Australia as Lithium-ion BESS fires are so poisonous to human beings, stock, wildlife, for our soil and water - releasing gases for days that billow over and evacuate entire towns.
That’s not a “low-risk” installation; that’s an alarming Public Health and Safety Disaster and HUGE scale evacuation zone!

Although still unacceptable and inadequate - even the Woke UK has a 15 Km Exclusion Zone!

Homebush BESS is a massive hazard with ZERO benefit.

This BESS offers no new electricity generation, no local backup, and no benefits to Australia - only astronomically costly, environmentally disastrous, economically insane, energy insecurity and national insecurity crisis impacts.

This plan merely exploits local land to support grid-wide treachery - while pushing health and safety risks onto nearby communities and burdening us all with exorbitant, unjust electricity costs and a CCP controlling, anti-Australian, ASEAN POWER GRID GLOBAL ELECTRIFICATION AGENDA .
