Official Caution issued to Holcim (Australia) Pty Ltd (DA 213-10-99, Mid Coast Council LGA)
On 30 March 2020, the Department issued an Official Caution to Holcim (Australia) Pty Ltd for failing to lodge the Jandra Quarry Rehabilitation and Conservation Bond with the Department, within 12 months of the Department’s approval of the Jandra Quarry Biodiversity and Rehabilitation Management Plan (BRMP) as required by the consent. Rehabilitation and Conservation Bonds provide a guarantee that the biodiversity offset strategy and rehabilitation of the site, as outlined in the BRMP, will be implemented. The Department is currently working with Holcim (Australia) Pty Ltd to ensure the Rehabilitation and Conservation Bond is submitted.
Penalty Notice issued to Holcim (Australia) Pty Ltd (DA231-10-99 as modified, Mid Coast Council LGA)
On 21 May 2021, the Department issued a $15,000 Penalty Notice to Holcim (Australia) Pty Ltd (Holcim) for failure to comply with the approved Biodiversity and Rehabilitation Management Plan during 2019, at their Jandra Quarry. Holcim failed to undertake a pre-clearance survey prior to clearing vegetation within the quarry's disturbance footprint in February 2019 and failed to appropriately monitor and assess rehabilitated areas of the quarry during the 2019 calendar year. The Department will continue to monitor the site to ensure quarrying activities are undertaken in accordance with the approved Biodiversity and Rehabilitation Management Plan to ensure impacts to biodiversity in the area are minimised.
Official Caution issued to Holcim (Australia) Pty Ltd (DA231-10-99) Mid-Coast LGA
On 13 March 2025, NSW Planning issued an Official Caution to Holcim (Australia) Pty Ltd for failing to notify the Planning Secretary of an exceedance of the annual blast overpressure criterion, and to provide a detailed report. Holcim was required to report this exceedance to NSW Planning as soon as practicable after becoming aware. NSW Planning will continue to monitor the project to ensure compliance with conditions of consent.
