Official Caution issued to Holcim (Australia) Pty Ltd (DA 128-5-2005, Goulburn Mulwaree LGA)
On 30 March 2020, the Department issued an Official Caution to Holcim (Australia) Pty Ltd (Holcim) for constructing a pre-coat plant at its Lynwood Quarry prior to obtaining the construction certificate, in contravention of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979. Holcim self-reported the breach and have since lodged an application for obtaining building certificate for the pre-coat plant with the local Council.
Fire Safety Order issued to 8 Parkview Drive, Sydney Olympic Park (DC 120-05-2005, Parramatta LGA)
On 23 April 2020, the Department issued a Fire Safety Order to the owners of the building at 8 Parkview Drive, Sydney Olympic Park, to remove identified external wall panels on the building consisting of Aluminium Composite Panels (ACP). ACP is combustible and poses a fire safety risk. The owner is required to replace the ACP with a non–combustible product and provide an inspection report issued by an accredited certifier, certifying that the replacement panels and method of installation comply with the Building Code of Australia. The owner is required to develop and implement fire safety measures to reduce the fire safety risks associated with the cladding until the rectification work is complete.
