They should be allowed to build their swimming pool, so long as it isn't too close to a main arterial road. School zones on main roads slow traffic really badly- going 40 in what is otherwise a 60, 70 or even 80 zone- is really, really bad for everyone in Sydney and we should have no additional contribution to it. However, if this will only impact side streets, if any roads at all, I am all for it

This project involves the demolition of the unit block at 10-12 Margaret Street, recently Meriden demolished the block of units at 30-32 Redmyre Road, also formerly adjacent to the school before the school expanded.
Both blocks are older types, near Strathfield Station and renting for affordable prices ( for Sydney rents ). The school has removed this housing from the market.
What will be done by the school to provide at least 16 new affordable units close to public transport with service levels similar to Strathfield Station, or to provide additional staff and / or student housing equivalent to at least 16 two bedroom units on site and / or within walking distance of the school.
Any approval of the proposal is to include requirements for the development to provide no nett loss in housing in the price range of the existing units with equivalent or better access ( less than 10 minute walk ) to public transport that provides service levels similar to Strathfield Station
