Hi there

I’m a resident of a neighbouring resident and we have been advised that there’s been a proposal of a mixed use development including in-fill affordable housing-Schofields Road, Tallawong.

To be frank with you, This is thievery; this is out of imagination for all of us who are hard working citizens/ who invested our hard earnings with high mortgages in Tallawong; seeing such a poorly planned proposal coming to our area and ruining our neighbourhood. This is after the fact that all the residents have moved in such well established suburb of Tallawong. Majority of the residents I have spoken to wouldnt have bought or invested their money if we knew about this crazy affordable housing construction!!

This will affect our social life style, our investments, our schools, our kid’s future and many more. This is basically a downgrade for our suburb. We will fight till the end to stop this affordable portion of this construction.

Hence in such circumstances this proposal has already put so much mental pressure on the whole neighbourhood.

Such proposal needs to be well thought of and needs to be in a whole new area where the suburb is NOT established yet.

So whoever who wants to move in or invest, KNOWS that next door building has got AFFORDABLE HOUSING IN THERE!!! Otherwise I wouldn't have moved to this suburb.



Please note that we have a WhatsApp group chat with many neighbours as we had done our fencing with the residents a few years ago and I can tell you that everyone is furious of such a poor planning; having the affordable portion included in the construction within our neighbourhood. And we will ensure this group will grow in size, just in case if we need to raise money for a law firm to stop this madness.

I want to advise you that I don’t have any issues with a residential construction WITHOUT the affordability portion.

However if this poorly planned proposal gets approved; we will take this and the planners and all the approvers to court as such plan will affect our entire future.

We have also spoken to the council and they are on the same page with us.

In simple terms if this proposal gets approved we will be defiantly ensuring that this developer / builder won’t be able to start their construction as planned by taking a legal action using a law firm.

We will also take it to 60minutes and we’ll make it official for the whole nation to see and get notified of such crazy proposals ruining the neighbourhoods by our department of Planning!! Ruining our well-established suburbs!!!!

However if the AFFORDABILITY PORTION GETS REMOVED, I wont have any issues with this construction.

I object to this project because of the proposed in-fill affordable housing. I have concerns about the impact this will have on local infrastructure as the project will add significant strain on these resources.
The project will affect the value of my property. This was not flagged with me before I purchased property in Tallawong.
I am also concerned about community safety and wellbeing due to potential implications of the in-fill affordable housing.

It will bring the value of all surrounding properties down and that is not fair on people who brought here before it was announced. It was never mentioned when properties were purchased which is not fair and should have been reported at the time.

The initial building approval was for 5 levels with the entry to be on Josue Cr. The developer is now looking to extend this to 7 stories which will only create even more caos on Josue Cr. With the additional traffic and the added height of the building polluting the visual appeal of the area where most homes are currently single dwellings/duplex. I also don’t believe the developer is using the scheme to provide housing for the correct reason (providing homes to those that need it most) but rather use it as a precedent case for future developments in the area.

Given the housing supply crisis it is crucial this project is improved as soon as possible.
The provision of 468 dwellings, including 74 affordable apartments, will provide desperately needed homes for hundreds and hundreds of people.
The ground floor retail will also be nice and provide services for the wider community to enjoy.

I am the parent of a autistic child. I purchased my property with the hope of living and gaining value for the future. As you all know a parent of autistics child , we are going through very hard time every day and having this project implementation will eliminate all our future hopes and bring us down financially in the road. Therefore, we have no options but living in this property and seeing our property price dropping everyday.

I purchased my unit across from this development without being advised of something of the sort will be happening.
If knew there was going to be allocated affordable housing, i would have looked at different building/area as it will drop value of the building
