Penalty Notice issued to Moolarben Coal Operations Pty Ltd (MP08_0135) Mid-Western Regional LGA
On 30 May 2025, NSW Planning issued a $15,000 Penalty Notice to Moolarben Coal Operations Pty Ltd (MCO) for failing to comply with approved blast overpressure limits at Moolarben Coal Mine. On 8 February 2024, a blast in pit OC4at the mine resulted in an exceedance of the blast overpressure limit at the Moolarben Road monitor.. MCO have since put measures in place to ensure ongoing compliance with blasting limits.
