I oppose the development application for the solar project, on the grounds of the LOCATION chosen.

In my opinion, it is located much too close to town, and is in full view of traffic entering and exiting Nevertire.
Such an eyesore will detract from the rural setting of our town.
I tend to think that if a solar operation was proposed on a site 1km on the entrance way into Warren (or any town in Australia) the local Council would oppose it.
I understand Epuron is proposing to plant screens of trees, however given community plantings in Nevertire (around the Noel Waters Oval & in the township) have produced sparce and minimal growth over several decades, I do not feel that "proposed" plantings will block out the high visibility of 200ha of solar panels so close to our town and highways.

Based on this, I believe the location should be much further out of the town of Nevertire and not be visible from major roads.

I oppose the development application because of the proposed location of the site.
I do support the concept of solar power generating electricity, however I believe the location of such a project/ facility should be sympathetic to rural residences and families.
My family home is located only 340 metres directly south of the proposed site. I have been living here for the past 23 years.
I believe that such a massive solar project so close to our home will be detrimental to our rural lifestyle. Our northerly views from our house and garden consists of grazing and cropping lands, (which if the project is successful) will be replaced by the ugly sight of 200 ha of solar panels for many years or until such time that a belt of tree plantings may (or may not) grow to an adequate size.
After seeking legal advice on this proposal, I believe any such large scale project, should be at least 2km away from any residence. (This would also have the benefit of reducing possible environmental impacts on residents, and the possibility of reduced property/ home values).
Because of this, I believe the proposed location of the solar project is also far too close to the township of Nevertire.
