WaterNSW has no major water supply assets or land in the area impacted by the project, however there are a large number of surface and ground water monitoring sites in the vicinity. WaterNSW requests that the applicant ensure measures are implemented to provide continued access to these sites by WaterNSW staff and/or contractors during works as part of the traffic management plan. For further information please contact Cath Hall, Water Monitoring Area Manager South West, Buronga at [email protected].

Council would require to enter into a Road Maintenance Agreement to protect and maintain our unsealed local road network for the duration of the project. Council also requires the forming up and sealing of approximately 40km of the Renmark Road in Wentworth. This would contribute to the flow through of traffic to South Australia instead of forcing vehicles unable to travel on unsealed roads down through Victoria on the Sturt Highway. The flow-on effects would create positive economic benefits to local businesses, tourism and visitor numbers. It also would benefit local residents by providing all weather and safer access to properties to the West of the Wentworth Township.
