This application for the addition of new high quality learning spaces should be allowed to progress. The provision of extra high quality learning spaces is necessary to accommodate existing and future student numbers. As a current student, I have exams scheduled on weekends, which is unsatisfactory, due to a lack of available learning and teaching spaces. This project will help alleviate those concerns, and also provide a new, architecturally stunning building which will complement the existing heritage of the R.D. Watt building. If anything, the existing de-mountable complex detracts from the significance and heritage of the area.

The area adjacent the Parramatta Rd bus stop needs to be opened up further by relocating the planter beds further from the road/property boundary. This is a very busy stop that is very constrained and has been in the Sydney Morning Herald as one of the worst bus stops in Sydney. It is wedged between a fence and a 6 lane main road. This proposal is an opportunity to contribute to the local community (Sydney University and the adjacent area) through improved infrastructure. Additionally it shows a greater commitment to sustainability and the use of public transport.
