Termination of residence shouldn't be allowed for this school which already has a plethora of land to build on.
It will create even more street issues along William street and is over the top. The council should not cave in to this conglomerate of a school anymore.

In my opinion as an international sustainability and climate change specialist, Shore School has exceeded ESD benchmarks for Australian school campuses with the Shore Physical Education Centre proposal. The ESD Guidance Document provides clear, measurable actions and design principles, setting a strong leadership position for the school in sustainable development. This development will be a key asset and exemplary development for Australian schools. Both the school and development team should be commended for the detailed design and planning approach. Council and the NSW Government should support this development and encourage consideration of co-gen and solar energy use for which a pool/school combination is ideal.

This will be a wonderful addition to a well established institution. With the recent history of the successful Graythwaite building restoration program, SHORE has a proven track record of undertaking and completing large scale projects whilst ensuring environmental and social requirements are upheld.

The school has long needed to upgrade these facilities, especially the pool area including diving.

Dear Ms Harragon,

RE: SSD 7507

We own an apartment on the corner of Blue St and William St - as does Shore School.

We note the proposed Shore School Physical Education Centre plans on exhibition, at North Sydney Council.
We object to the current Proposal for the following reasons:
A: The proposed re-alignment of the buildings have insufficient set back to William St.
A: The proposal is opposite a heritage Site and therefore should be more sympathetic to the surroundings.
B: Other buildings on the East side of William St are all set back further.
C: William St is a narrow street with a narrow footpath not suitable for the increased movement of pedestrians.
D: The surrounding Residences/Apartments and St Peter's Church are much lower in profile.
E: All winter (either side of 21 June) the buildings between Blue St and Blues Point Rd are drenched in shadow, as demonstrated on the Environment Impact Statement.
We commend the general improvements to Shore school's facilities and their quality of education but believe a more sympathetic interface with the surrounding community would maintain the school's reputation while making the project more in harmony with the surrounding community.
