CASA has reviewed the Aviation Impact Assessment Report (Revision 1.2 of 23 June 2022 by Avipro) for the St George Hospital Stage 3 Redevelopment . CASA has no issues with the Aviation Impact Assessment and no objections to the St George Hospital Stage 3 Redevelopment.
Sundry Comment for Information:
As advised in the Aviation Impact Assessment Report 3.3, CASA does not regulate Helicopter Landing Sites.
As indicated in the Aviation Impact Assessment Report 4.22 and 4.26 CASA makes recommendations for infringements of the Inner Horizontal Surface from an Airports Act perspective, on receipt of an Invitation to Comment from Sydney Airport.
CASA will make recommendations for marking and lighting of the crane(s), and possibly the building. CASA may seek advice from NSW Health Infrastructure (or its Aviation Advisor) or Air Ambulance regarding the marking and lighting of crane(s) and the building from a Helicopter Landing Site perspective that would be appropriate to be included in the Department of Infrastructure Approval. And it is expected that conditions/requirements from a helicopter operations perspective (for example as described in 4.17, 4.18. 4.19, 4.20 of the Aviation Impact Assessment) will be applied by an alternate approval/governance mechanism.
