more traffic and congestion -already bad enough. poor, unhealthy,
dangerous levels of air quality. Previous incident at Moorebank
factory. my child has asthma - this will make it worse and even fatal.
Accidents - human error - residential properties nearby even childcare
centres - risk to lives. The surrounding suburbs are full of families
with children - is there really a need to set up an oils factory here
(to generate revenue) and compromise the health of children and
families? Totally unaware of this - why weren't we informed?????
HEALTH and SAFETY is way too important to me and my family. This
factory does not need to exist here in a heavily populated and growing
residential area.

Why is this being built right next to residential areas. We were here
first. We bought our property to move into a beautiful growing suburb.
Now you want to squeeze this toxic factory around our community and
children. There are plenty industrial areas where you can build this.
Isn't that what an industrial area is for. Keep your poison away from
our children and community and go somewhere where you won't poison
people. GO TO AN INDUSTRIAL AREA AWAY FROM RESIDENTIAL. This is why
it's called residential. Look at the negative impact this will have.
Health risks and not to mention the value of our area going down the
toilet. We will not let this happen. We don't just object, we strongly
object. And by the way, why were we not informed when this was being
discussed. No letters from council. NOTHING!!! To find out from a
Facebook is disgusting and onl6 proves this is dodgy.

We do not support this project, it must not go ahead in this region. It
is against the people and these people are the ones that have made the
place clean and liveable. We don't want even the slightest possibility
(no matter how low the probability) of any issues here.

THIS IS A PETITION TO STOP THE NULON MOTOR OIL AT BRINGELLY ROAD
LEPPINGTON NSW. I AM AGAINST THIS AS THIS WILL EFFECT THE RESIDENCE OF
ALL SURROUNDING AREA'S AND ALSO THE WESTERN SYDNEY PARK LANDS
INCLUDING ALL WILDLIFE. I AM DISGUSTED TO THINK THAT THE COMMUNITY WAS
NOT INFORMED ABOUT THIS OR THE HEALTH RISKS ASSOCIATED . ISN'T IT THE
RESPONSIBIBLY OF OUR GOVEREMENT TO TELL US AND I WOULD HOPE THAT IF
OUR COUNCIL HAS SAID NO TO THIS ,THAT THE GOVERMENT WILL LISTERN TO
WHAT OUR COMMUNITY WANTS AND THAT IS TO SAY NO. AS YOU ARE AWARE THERE
ARE SO MANY NEW RESIDENTAL AREAS THAT ARE NOW BEING DEVELOPED AND FOR
THE NSW GOVERMENT TO CONSIDER THIS WERE PEOPLE LIVE IS A DISGRACE. WHO
WILL PROTECT OUR COMMUNITY AND HOW WILL THEY PAY FOR ALL THE HEALTH
ISSUE THAT THE COMMUNTIY WILL DEVELOP. I HAVE TWO CHILDERN WITH
CHRONIC LUNG ISSUES AND TO THINK THE AIR QUALITY WILL BE COMPROMISED
IS A MASSIVE PROBLEM. I VOTED NO AND SO DOES OUR COMMUNITY

* The land/ block/ area chosen has been approved for light industrial
use only NULON is attempting to build a heavy industrial site that the
council approved for cafes, restaurants, park lands, shops * The
impact on our local roads from increased traffic congestion due to
heavy vehicles, oil tanker trucks operating 24/7 * The risk of a heavy
vehicle incident involving hazardous materials in/ around our local
community * The very real daily threat to our local families/ schools/
day care centres/ children (your choice of wording) of a major
incident occurring due to mechanical failure or human error. The
impact would be catastrophic to the immediate area/s depending on the
severity of the incident (explosion/ fire etc...) * The immediate
threat to the surrounding environment/ community/ residents should
there be a major/ spill due to on site tank rupture due to fire
incident occurred in or around or local community * The hazardous
products stored, mixed, refined, transported are carcinogenic (cancer
causing) and can be directly related to the development of tumours,
rashes, lung and raspatory issues/ complications/ when exposed either
directly or indirectly * If you can smell it, its affecting you, no
price on my families health, zero tolerance * The daily smells, the
trucks running all night and day * The lack of community consultation
by NULON we didn't know, until now and found out second hand *
Incidents (not accidents) will and have happened, we will not take the
chance of having such a hazardous operation directly within our family
community * Previous incident occurred at the Moorebank factory where
an oil mixing/ blending machine was left running until the fire
brigade were alerted via an electronic direct alarm, when they
attended they found that the blending machine had been left on
unattended, if that alarm had failed (mechanical failure) the result
(worst case) could have been multiple fatalities. 48 people suffered
chemical exposure symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, head ache/
migraines/ sores and rashes as a result. We will not take that chance
with our families/ community and surrounding areas. EPA report on the
face book page * Processes and procedures can be diverted from/ due to
fatigue, poor training, poor operational culture (meeting deadlines/
company expectations), alcohol, drugs, repetition (breeds complacency/
laziness/ take short cuts) these would be classed as an example of
human error * We will not live with the daily fear of a minor, major
or any incident ever occurring within our immediate community, there
is no price that can be put on our families lives/ health/ wellbeing
no amount of compensation would ever take back the damage done * If
this factory is build it will lower our housing prices considerably,
as who wants to live near an oil/ aerosol production factory/
distribution centre (this is one reason NULON has proposed to build
next to established homes, would you buy next to NULON?) * People/
children/ elderly with pre-existing medical conditions in the area
such as autism, asthma and so on would be greatly affected The NULON
company obviously has no interest in the detrimental effects on the
surrounding residents quality of life as a result of their operational
goals, this is clear within the information provided on the face book
page.

Nulon needs to find somewhere else to put their motor oil facility. It is
the absolute height of negligence to even consider such a facility
being allowed so close to residential areas. I and my entire family
will not feel safe and neither will any other resident. No amount of
reassurance Nulon will alleviate the knowledge that this facility will
be safe. Perhaps the CEO would kindly consider having it next door.
Please consider moving to an industrial area, where there is likely to
be minimal Impact

There is no place for this manufacturer at the proposed site. Far too
close to residential areas Too close to shopping centres Too close to
schools and pre schools My understanding is that this area was
designated as a community area/ green space This is what it should
remain. We don't want or need the threat of any danger of chemicals
and or fumes . This facility needs to be put in a designated
manufacturing area. As this is a relocation from another site, there
will not be extra jobs. We have a right, as any Comunity does., to
fresh air and saftey. .It needs to stay what it's designated as, a
space for the community, flora fauna. To which We can all benefit as a
community.

This manufacturing site is not needed in our community so near to
schools, and homes, which is one of the fasting growing areas. I do
not support this project to be built as it poses health. noise risks
and pollution. This area is thriving on new houses being built, young
families settling in therefore this kind of facility near our homes is
definitely not welcome.

To whom it may concern, I've been reviewing the air quality impact
assessment prepared for application SSD 17_8900, Nulon Motor Oils
Facility. There are some areas of concern and claims made that are
without evidence to support the position stated. A statement of
neutral impact is anticipated to the environment is not provided with
any evidence. I note Table 8 provides evaporation rates (further
unsubstantiated by lack of MSDS documentation, although a web search
will confirm these values for all except NB3070 Glycool 670 which
could have been appended to the document), however, evaporation rates
alone do not provide assessment of the impact to the air quality such
that neighbouring residences may be affected by the odours (harmful or
not) coming from the facility. Both the sections referring to
"Receptor Sensitivity" and "Magnitude" make reference to risk
assessments and a quantified review of the impact whereas this section
referring to "Nature of Impact" is unsubstantiated. The final
statement prior to the conclusion notes a vegetative buffer existing
between the Development Site and the existing sensitive receptors
located to the North. A quick survey of the map displays that the two
highest impacted residence (approx. 20m and 50m away from the site) do
not benefit from this existing vegetative buffer and these locations
are the areas of highest impact. Furthermore, the development plans
have not included any detail for the planting of advanced trees. The
site's location necessitates the removal of trees and no inclusion in
the plan commits to the replacement of that vegetation apart from a
"Not for Construction" landscape plan which results in little to no
commitment to undertaken the planned work. Requirements for the
planting of advanced and super advanced trees should be included
within the proposal. Please consider these concerns as an assessment
to reduce the risks and negative impacts to the surrounding
neighbourhood so far as is reasonably practicable does not appear
complete. I look forward to your response. Regards, Shaun Padt

I am extremely disappointed in the governments decision to approve this
plant within our community, as it has the potential to cause harm
through long term exposure to emissions. A guarantee can not be given
to the local community that harm will not be caused, despite the
environmental impact statement, as long term exposure can never truely
be predicted. Leppington is part of the South Western Sydney growth
corridor and many young families are relocating to this area. The long
term impact of the emissions are potentially dangerous to the
community as a whole but particularly to the young children who are
living and going to school in this region. I have a toddler who
attends a daycare centre off Bringelly road, and the possibility of
harmful substances being emitted from the facility would make me want
to relocate him out of the area. I would not have purchased land and
built In Leppington if I had know this motor oil facility was to be
built, and I will consider leaving the area of his does go ahead. I
ask the government to reconsider this decision and move the facility
to the outskirts of the city to reduce potential harm to our
community. This is the sensible and considered decision that is
required if the government truely listens to their constituents.
