This Whitehaven Solar & Lithium-ion Battery plan is definitely NOT for the Greater Good of Australia at all as it is seriously & irreversibly detrimental to Public Health & Safety!

Electricity Consumers are unnecessarily suffering severe hardship & austerity due to the deliberate deprivation of our natural, far superior, reliable, affordable, plentiful, secure, Australian Coal Power resources, as well as our own Uranium resources for a clean, safe Nuclear future with minimal environmental footprint.

Instead, we are being forcible cursed with unjust subsidisation of pathetic, part-time energy from ecologically destructive, contaminating Industrialised Solar/Wind Electricity Generating Works & Battery Energy Storage Systems that are extremely toxic FIRE DISASTERS, always unreliable & intermittent - dependent on the vagaries of the weather.

Whitehaven’s Carbon Accounting claims are incorrect as they have failed to account for the full life-cycle of the Solar Panels & BESS - which DO NOT just magically pop into existence!

How would Whitehaven ensure the Solar panels aren’t unethically linked to cruelly tortured Uyghur Slave Labour Supply Chains like all the other Industrialised Solar Factories in NSW shamefully now are?

Where will Whitehaven be sourcing PFOS Free Solar Panels from - that don’t leach toxic Heavy Metals & bis-FASI Free BESS - to ensure NO TOXIC CONTAMINATION from the typical SLAVE LABOUR LINKED, CCP RELIANT, TOXIC PFAS PANELS, ELECTRICAL WIRING, INVERTERS, BESS PRODUCTS?

How will Whitehaven & the Local Regulatory Authority responsible for any Land/Water Contamination/Pollution caused by Solar/Wind Electricity Generating Works - the Narrabri Council - GUARANTEE its Community/ Ratepayers that their FOOD GROWING LAND, THE ONSITE EPHEMERAL CREEK & ADJACENT KURRAJONG CREEK WHICH IS PART OF THE NAMOI RIVER CATCHMENT & MULLALEY SUB-BASIN - PART OF THE GUNNEDAH BASIN WILL NOT BE CONTAMINATED BY WHITEHAVEN’S TOXIC SOLAR/BESS PLAN?

There are very objectionable health risks, damaging biodiversity impacts & no scientific determination of the toxic heavy metals or dangerous PFAS contaminants.
Whitehaven’s weather dependent, energy depriving Solar/BESS infrastructure won’t work most of the time - only heating up the local microclimate - with 80% of the heat re-radiated - ensuring it becomes a damaging tornado & storm magnet.

I OBJECT to Whitehaven Solar & BESS as there is a complete lack of toxic risk assessment & scientific research to prove Public Health & Safety - which the dodgy Department & box ticking IPCN continually fail to consider.
Without these essential steps, there will be irreparable harm caused to the site & surrounding land, to the vital Kurrajong - Namoi water system & to stock, wildlife & human beings for generations to come.

Submission objecting to the Whitehaven Solar Farm (WSF) Project being granted a planning permit or in any way proceeding to construction.
1. The Whitehaven Solar Farm is purely being built in order to meet Net Zero requirements. The Solar Farm is only able, (because of a shortage of weather fuel, sunshine) to operate for a maximum of eight hours a day (33%) and because of clouds and rain, the solar industry only averages six hours a day or 25% of each day. If it was not subsidised, investors would never consider it as a worthwhile investment.
This statement alone clearly sets out. That by its intermittent and unreliable nature of electricity production, (because of an unreliable supply of ‘weather’ fuel). The WSF should never, ever be considered as an economic or dependable electricity generator for supplying baseload electricity to a modern electricity grid.
2. The WSF will permanently pollute the farmland it is on, and the agricultural production will be lost each year for the next 100 years or more. Note: At present the WSF land is producing each year, a good amount of agricultural produce, that economically benefits the farmer, surrounding towns, cities and eventually Australia with economic stimulation and jobs. As previously stated this will be a very large negative against the WSF forever.
3. The WSF does nothing to reduce the World’s emissions. This is because all the Federal and State Net Zero emission goals, Emission Reduction goals and Carbon emission limits on big polluters, are all a waste of money, effort, and will not reduce Global emissions by one iota. The reason is that while Australia’s emissions of Co2 are approximately 1.3% of the World’s emissions at the same time China emits 30% of the World’s emissions and is still growing. Any reduction in Australia’s emissions will be quickly replaced by China’s emissions.
4. The WSF is totally reliant on Climate Change subsidies and mandated energy retailer policies, without which it would never be built. Or if the subsidies, etc are removed this WSF will be abandoned. Further if the WSF cannot afford the cost of building the HV Transmission necessary to connect to the Grid. It is ridiculous for electricity consumers and taxpayers to have to pay for the connecting HV Transmission Lines.
6. Importantly this WSF has not made adequate provision for the outbreak of a wildfire. Firebreaks are grossly inadequate and fixed water tanks are next to useless. In Victoria CFA fire fighters are refusing to enter Renewable Factories. Water bombers would not water bomb the WSF because of the risk of explosions The risk to surrounding rural residents is frightening.
5. As well the WSF has made no financial provision for the dismantling and restoration of the site. Or the cost of the disposal of the toxic, batteries and associated toxic junk. This is why the WSF is not a net contributor to the electricity generation system or a viable economic proposition and should never be built.

It involves the clearing of native vegetation when such a facility could be placed on already cleared land with low agricultural capacity.

I object to the project as it requires agricultural land to be used for non-agriculture purposes.

I Object to Whitehaven Solar & BESS because:-
• It is destructive to native flora and fauna;
• Construction will leave a legacy of land destruction that is unlikely to be rectified by the builder;
• It is an abomination on the natural landscape;
• It is part of a system that costs billions, does not work reliably and attempts to solve a problem that does not exist, in other words useless and irresponsible use of public funds;
• All such infrastructures should be built at developer’s expense, NOT on public funds.
As we are constantly told wind and solar are the cheapest, well prove it, remove all subsidises - DO NOT build this system on public funds;
• The TOTAL cost has not been verified by independent experts;
• There is NO verified scientific basis for reduction of CO2 in the atmosphere so this project is a total waste of public money, along with all other such projects. 
There is in fact reliable verifiable scientific proof that CO2 is beneficial to plant life and by extension to human life on earth.

Whitehaven Solar Electricity Generating Works + BESS plan lacks Integrity, Scientific Rigour & Engineering Facts.

There has been NO scientific research or toxic risk assessment, which are both essential in ensuring that it won’t cause irreparable harm to the land, water systems, or local population.

There are significant risks & inevitable, irreversible consequences from this toxic contaminating PFAS polluting Solar & BESS plan - including the spread of life-threatening, toxic chemicals in the Namoi Catchment and damage to ecosystems that have been functioning for generations.

The onsite native vegetation plays a crucial role in carbon sequestration, unlike the planned industrialised Solar & BESS - which obviously has extensive embedded energy & environmentally polluting impacts.

The Native vegetation removal would have detrimental impacts on essential biodiversity & the precious ecosystem - especially vulnerable near the Kurrajong Creek.

Whitehaven Solar + BESS plan serves no useful purpose as it’s just a rip off of Taxpayer subsidies for a toxic mess!

It’s totally ludicrous & bogus to claim that: The design operational life of the Solar + BESS Factory is 50 years !!!
In about 5 years it will be degrading & leaching toxic chemicals into the soil & water, the Battery will have exploded on FIRE like a BOMB & Whitehaven will realise that COAL IS KING afterall!!

Destructive Biodiversity impacts from clearing of 19.52 ha of native vegetation & partial clearance (removal of trees/shrubs) of 2.87 ha of native vegetation in order to construct Toxic, Fire-prone Solar panels & a contaminating BESS BOMB makes no sense whatsoever as it would irreversibly harm human beings & disrupt the local ecosystem, leading to a loss of biodiversity & harm native species that rely on these plants for shelter and food.

Whitehaven’s obnoxious, contaminating Solar + BESS Factory threatens the Namoi Catchment - which is a critical water source.
Toxic pollutants from this senseless plan would compromise water quality, affecting agriculture, wildlife, and people dependent on this resource.

Imagine the horrendous, cumulative impacts of all these destructive, toxic components littering rural NSW EVERYWHERE!!

NO WAY DO WE EVER WANT ANY MORE CHINA RELIANT, RECKLESS RUINABLES!

NEW AUSTRALIAN COAL POWER & A FUTURE, SOVEREIGN, NUCLEAR POWER INDUSTRY WITH MINIMAL ENVIRONMENTAL FOOTPRINT - MUST BE PRIORITISED!

Whitehaven should stick to reliable, affordable Coal & stop pretending that hideous, CCP reliant Solar + Battery JUNK reduces any emissions at all as it’s ALL TOXIC, PFAS CONTAMINATING RUBBISH that will soon be a MONUMENTAL PILE OF POLLUTING SOLAR/BATTERY WASTE DAMAGING THIS CROPPING & GRAZING LAND - TURNING IT INTO TOXIC WASTELAND FOREVER.
STOP WRECKING OUR CHILDREN’S FUTURE BY LITTERING RURAL AREAS WITH TOXIC PANELS & LITHIUM-ION CHEMICALS - CAUSING PUBLIC HEALTH & SAFETY RISKS TO THE ESSENTIAL NAMOI WATER SYSTEM.

This proposed PFAS POLLUTING plan increases the likelihood of TOXIC FIRE HAZARDS, endangering both local populations, mine workers and valuable ecosystems. These Hazardous Fires & toxic smoke would spread uncontrollably, further damaging & contaminating the land, biodiversity & vital Water sources linked to Kurrajong Creek & the Namoi River.

Whitehaven Solar + BESS Factory would be yet another appalling, Financial Drain on the Australian public that we are sick to death of!
This idiotic, RenewaBULL Swindle has to stop!!
This pathetic plan has a hopeless capacity factor, will NOT WORK MOST OF THE TIME & is reliant on rip-off subsidies, which are not a sustainable funding model.
It would place a continual financial burden on taxpayers without any long-term benefits.

The potential for contaminating, Industrialised Solar’s heavy metals + PFOS & filthy BESS residue & bis-FASI to leach into the soil and Namoi River Catchment - Mullaley Sub-basin - which forms part of the larger Gunnedah Basin - is an extremely serious & irreversible, environmental concern - threatening agricultural productivity and water quality for surrounding communities.

Whitehaven Solar/BESS plan is a complete waste of Taxpayer subsidies for an intermittent, highly weather-dependent, unreliable and Fire vulnerable plan - reliant on slave labour produced, Toxic Solar & BESS which will never work on demand & has a whole life cycle of pollution & poison!

The Toxic Heavy Metals & carcinogenic PFAS contamination from Fire Hazardous Whitehaven Solar & BESS poses significant long-term risks to essential water & food growing land used for cropping/grazing & for Kurrajong Creek/Namoi Catchment - detrimentally harming human health.
