Application Programming Interface (API)
Enhancements have been made to existing APIs for the following digital services Online DA, State DA, Complying Development Certificate, Post-Consent Certificate, Certificate Registration and Concurrence and Referral. Please refer to the Integration API Release Notes for a description of these enhancements.

Complying Development Certificates
- A new Common Application Type selection has been added to enable categorisation of development applications for broader reporting purposes. Some terms, such as demolition or change of use, which were previously listed as a development type but are not, have been moved to this location.
- The list of development types has been updated to enable applicants to choose a development type that better reflects legislative definitions as found in the Standard Instrument Local Environmental Plan (SILEP) and the Exempt and Complying Development Code. The expanded list of development types will apply to all new applications submitted from 1 September 2023. Any application being drafted but not yet submitted by this date will be automatically updated to include the new list prior to submission.
- An applicant is required to input the developer details for Class 3 and 9c developments. If the information has not been provided prior to submission, the applicant can amend the application using the “Edit application” functionality.
Certificate Registrations
The list of development types has been updated to reflect legislative definitions as found in the Standard Instrument Local Environmental Plan (SILEP) and the Exempt and Complying Development Code. The expanded list of development types will apply to all new applications submitted from 1 September 2023.

The list of development types has been updated to enable applicants to choose a development type that better reflects legislative definitions as found in the Standard Instrument Local Environmental Plan (SILEP) and the Exempt and Complying Development Code. Any application being drafted but not yet submitted by this date will be automatically updated to include the new list prior to submission.
Development Applications
DA Online
- Councils can configure the document requirements for development applications using the Document Management functionality within the organisation administration profile. The applicant is asked to upload both Secretary’s approved form and consent authority required documents (CARDs), as required uploads.
Updates have also been made to some of the conditions for existing Secretary’s required documents to ensure they are appropriately captured.

Post-Consent Certificates
- The list of development types has been updated to enable applicants to choose a development type that better reflects legislative definitions as found in the Standard Instrument Local Environmental Plan (SILEP) and the Exempt and Complying Development Code. The expanded list of development types will apply to all new Construction Certificate, Occupation Certificate and Principal Certifier Appointment applications submitted from 1 September 2023. Any application being drafted but not yet submitted by this date will be automatically updated to include the new list prior to submission.
- A new Common Application Type selection has been added to enable categorisation of development applications for broader reporting purposes. Some terms, such as demolition or change of use, which were previously listed as a development type but are not, have been moved to this location.
- An applicant is required to input the developer details for Class 3 and 9c developments. They are unable to proceed with their Construction Certificate application until this has been completed.
- The ‘My development’ page is available for Class 3 and 9c development.
- The Building Work (BW) reference number is displayed next to the ITSOC reference number within the table on the Occupation Certificate section of the ‘My Development’ page.
- Documents uploaded as part of Declare As-Built Final Set action for “Building compliance declaration” are located in the “Final BP documents” folder under Regulated Designs in the Building Works case. These documents can be filtered by selecting “Final BP documents”.
- Building Practitioners can lodge the documents that they have uploaded as part of the Declare As-Built variations step for an Occupation Certificate. There is no limit to the number of documents for lodgement prior to the Building Practitioner clicking Submit/Continue.
- Occupation Certificate auditors can search and retrieve data for Class 2, 3 and 9c developments. Previously this was limited to Class 2 buildings.
Remediation Works
Remediation Work Crown Development has been expanded to include Class 2, 3 and 9c development or any other classes within a combination of Class 2, 3 or 9c. Associated help text has been updated to reflect this amendment.
