This is horrible for our local community it’s turning our beautiful town into the Gold Coast it’s horrendous it’s too big for the area and no local benefits it will block all the family homes views around it and create unnecessary traffic for the area

This building is not in keeping with the character of our area and thus I wish to lodge an objection. It is too high and will negatively impact traffic and the ambience of our beachside suburb. It should have to confirm to a reasonable height as do other developments but also I am concerned about the general congestion if what is already a busy area.

I strongly object to the Indigo by Moran Seniors Living proposal as it stands. The 5–6 storey height is far too tall for our low-rise neighbourhood and will negatively impact traffic, parking, and the local character. I urge the Department to reduce the building height to no more than 2–3 storeys and lower the overall density to better fit our community.

The massive proposed increase of residents and the vehicular traffic that will accompany the development on a short and long term basis is not appropriate for the surrounding street sizes. The current traffic density is at a maximum level and this project will only further congest the peninsula.
As this development at this address is in a residental street , not in a designated shopping centre precinct or main road, then why must we have a monolithic 5 or 6 level ( and why hasn't this been determined yet?) building towering over the predominately 2 storey local building heights?
The proposed 7 visitor parking spaces is also laughably inadequate for the ratio of occupants at the development.
My objection is to the overreach of the planned height of the project and the inadequate on site visitor parking.
This is in no way an "affordable building" project and a straight out rates grab by council.
I believe this project should be limited to building heights in keeping with the existing neighbourhood.

This proposal is not in keeping with the area it is way too large. It’s proposed on a stretch of coastline that is erosion prone on a small peninsular
It’s clearly providing apartments for the wealthy over 60 s market I’ve lived in the area my entire life and are over 60 I could sell everything I own (house included )and not be able to afford an apartment there
It’ is presenting itself as aged care to get around planning rules.
What about increased traffic in such a already busy road and not to mention more strain on the sewerage system that overflows every time we get decent rain
Polluting the ocean that this property is profiting off
I am also concerned about increased dog ownership in the apartments that stretch of beach is overrun by dog owners exercising their dogs.
Where else are pets supposed to exercise
In a nutshell too big for the site
Not enough infrastructure to support such a huge development
It will cast a huge shadow forever changing that site and its surrounds
Not vey far from erosion prone beach front

I support the development planned at 156 Ocean Street Narrabeen.
My wife and I will be close to 80 years old when the development is potentially available to occupy. Having lived on the Northern Beaches all our life we wish to be able to stay.
There is an acute shortage of over 60 developments especially that are in close to existing infastructure such as transport , shops , medical and cafes etc. It will be focused on a community feel and allows us to remain close to family and friends.
A key aspect is the "aging in place" whereby we are able to remain in our home despite acute sickness and this is rare.
Also to have 2 car spaces is rare and takes vehicles off the streets.
I appreciate the residents have their reservations and this is the norm across Sydney where the attitude is "not in our backyard". However we must embrace higher density living as the city population ages and grows in numbers. Without doubt the growth of such community living must increase and in doing so free up the large houses for younger families to enjoy.
Thank you for your consideration.

Objection to SSD-76220734 - 156 Ocean Street Narrabeen
I live at 1/157 Ocean Street, directly opposite the proposed development.
TRAFFIC/ACCESSIBILITY
Congestion along Ocean Street and neighbouring streets is currently a regular occurrence. It is difficult to exit the unit block at 157 Ocean Street and turn left or right onto Ocean Street due to the constant stream of traffic, particularly of a morning and afternoon. Octavia Street is narrow and already can be at a standstill with cars parked either side. There is currently very limited parking for visitors and tradesmen. There will be a marked increase in traffic as well as virtually no parking if the development at 156 is approved.
There are several families residing at 157 Ocean Street with young children. The children will be at risk of harm when catching the bus to and from school, riding their bikes and crossing the road with the amount of extra traffic due to the proposed development. Crossing Ocean Street is currently difficult with no pedestrian crossing and stream of traffic.
The provision of only 7 visitors car spaces in the development is not enough.
Kind regards
Concerned Resident

I am 33 and cannot afford to buy my own home in the areas i want to work. I had to turn down a child care job at Narrabeen because I couldn’t find any affordable accommodation in the area. We need more of these developments so that there is more housing in the area - and the older people can move out of their homes and sell them to people like me and my family.

See attachment detailing my objection to the proposed indigo by moran Development on Ocean street, my submission details the gross misuse of power and devastating impacts this will have on our local ecosystem and community.
