I object to the project because i live on Magpie Hollow Road and their will be a major increase of heavy traffic eg trucks and work equipment . Lake Lyall is also one of Lithgows main tourist attractions and this project will ruin that and also ruin the local habitat for animals in the area like platypus .

The reservoir on Mt Walker and the massive clearing of 100ha of pristine bushland would be in direct sight from my property and will be an eyesore and reduce the value of my property.
Traffic along Magpie Hollow Rd will be much heavier from the extra 1200 vehicular movements per day as well as having a noise impact here especially from the 300 extra heavy vehicles per day. It will be difficult turning onto the Great Western Highway.
The recreational users of Lake Lyell will be affected by the raising of lowering of the water level each day which may lead to less people returning.
Noise from blasting and drilling as well as vibration which could damage my house is a major issue.
Aboriginal heritage values will be lost forever.
There will be extensive biodiversity disturbance including on the platypus in the Farmers Creek arm of Lake Lyell.
Cleaner energy should not mean environmental destruction.
The Great Western Battery makes more sense using only 10ha of existing cleared rural land with 14% more storage and less visual impact.
I have hiked Mt Walker with its pristine bushland. It would be a tragedy to clear this bushland.

This project has no economic viability for Lithgow and the businesses that support our economy will be destroyed by this project. Energy Australia is not here to support the residents and businesses in Lithgow.

I do not support the project
Due to disruption to peace and tranquility of the area and destruction of wildlife habitat . This supposed area of natural beauty and tourist numbers to the area will be severely affected by the unsightly views created by the project and workers camp if located on the shores of the lake .
Many tourist accomodation properties which are based in the area will be severely affected and may go out of business during the process of building the dam and infrastructure which may possibly go on for even longer that planned . The unique wildlife and environment of the area will also be affected negatively . Power generated by the project will only be short term after it is decomissioned we will be left with unsightly structure forever and very few local jobs will be created .
I definately dont want this to go ahead !

My family has lived in Lithgow for over 70 years. We live on Sir Thomas Mitchell Drive, above Lake Lyell with a direct view of Mount Walker from our back veranda.

I spent most weekends of my life either at Lake Lyell water skiing, swimming and fishing or riding my motorbike around Mount Walker.

This project will significantly reduce the value of my family home with increased traffic driving down what is a quiet peaceful road, ruining the road infrastructure and ruing the outlook of Mount Walker. Both the mountain and the lake are major tourist attractions for Lithgow with the camping and water sports at the lake and bike riding and 4wd'ing around mount walker.

The project will destroy the environment for wildlife and damage the indigenous heritage of the area.

I object to the Lake Lyell Pumped hydro project being approved being approved for the following reasons.
1. Real or Potential environmental harm.
2. Loss of recreational and social activity space to the wider community
3. Loss of natural vision aspect of Mt Walker area
4. Potential or actual failure of management plans
5. Loss of local heritage and indigenous heritage
6. Non Australian primary ownership
7. Apparent bias of project promotion towards the positives of the project, with minimal mention of the negatives.

This project of state significance is a continuation of works carried out many years ago when Lake Lyell was built to support another significant project, the construction of Wallerawang and later Mt Piper power stations. We all, in time adapt to change and the benefits of projects like this bring to a small community can be seen with the number of visitors both Wang and Lake Lyell dams bring to our community. Building this new hydro plant expands these benefits by sheer number of employment opportunities during construction both direct and indirect. All for it we need alternative generation solutions this is a no brainer Tasmania has done similar for years.

I strongly object to the hydro pump out proposal due to its anticipated adverse effects on the area, where my family and I have vacationed regularly over the past 35 plus years, which would lead to significant economic losses for Lithgow resulting from reduced annual spending on local goods and services. Additionally, the proposal would harm wildlife, which I have personally observed, including platypuses in their natural habitat while boating. The proposed pump out facility would adversely affect boating, swimming, and overall recreational enjoyment.

I vehemently oppose the hydro pump out proposal due to its predicted detrimental impacts on the area, where my family and I have regularly vacationed over the past 15years, which would result in substantial economic loss to Lithgow stemming from decreased annual expenditure on local goods and services. Furthermore, the proposal would have an adverse effect on wildlife, which I have observed firsthand, including sightings of platypuses in their natural habitat while boating. The proposed pump out facility would negatively impact boating, swimming, and overall recreational enjoyment.
