This project sacrifices reliable electricity for weather-dependent instability.
Wallaby Creek Wind cannot provide power on demand when Australians actually need it.
Industrial wind is intermittent by design, dependent on changing weather conditions and incapable of delivering continuous sovereign baseload power.

I object to the proposed Wallaby Creek Wind farm due to concerns regarding the enormous amounts of diesel consumption and heavy industrial activity required to build and operate this project.
The number of diesel generators that will be required to power the accommodation camp, back up the BESS and back up the switching stations has not been acknowledged by the NSW Government nor the proponent. Insufficient attention is being given to the substantial use of diesel powered machinery that will be required to bulldoze the environment. The transport vehicles will all run on diesel as will the OSOM vehicles and the ships used to transport the components to Australia.
The true environmental cost of this development has not been disclosed nor assessed.

I object to the proposed Wallaby Creek Wind project due to concerns about the impact the project will have on birdlife and the natural environment in this region.
I am deeply concerned about the increasing industrialisation of important bird habitat across the Central West Orana region. The open plains, remnant woodlands, creek lines and paddock trees around Narromine support a wide variety of bird species. The aerial predators are known to collide with turbine blades, many of these species are protected species. Raptors use the thermals and open country for hunting, colliding with these large wind turbines will result in population decline..
Habitat fragmentation and habitat destruction as a result of this wind project will create a hostile environment for native birds plus all bats.

I wish to object to the proposed Wallaby Creek Wind Farm.
I am deeply concerned about the scale of industrial development being proposed and built across rural communities. The countryside around Narromine has always been valued for its open landscape, farming history and peaceful way of life. This project will permanently change the character of the area.
I am concerned about the visual impacts of the turbines, the blade flicker, and lighting. All local residents should be concerned about turbine noise, low frequency noise and infrasound, particularly for older people.
The impacts on native wildlife and the cumulative impact on the native vegetation is serious and irreversible.

This project contributes to the cumulative industrialisation of the region given the never ending wind, solar, battery and transmission projects.
This project will have significant visual impacts on the rural landscape
Turbine noise and infrasound will undoubtedly impact the local residents, livestock and wildlife.
Unforgiveable impacts to wedge tail eagles, bats and any aerial predators.
Habitat will become fragmented destroying wildlife corridors.
The disposal of turbine blades and batteries will contribute to toxic land fill waste.
There is no certainty that the decommissioning will ever be completed given the way developers flip projects and most of the land hosts think it will not be their problem.

I object to the proposed Wallaby Creek Wind farm due to concerns regarding cumulative impacts, impacts on rural amenity biodiversity, environmental damage and the potential health and well being effects associated with industrial scale wind turbines.
The potential impacts of turbine noise, low frequency noise and infrasound on nearby residents, livestock and native animals is untested and unknown. In the Crookwell area of NSW, where residents are surrounded by wind turbines, sleep disturbance is impacting on the health and well being of residents. Will this be the same for the residents of the Central West Orana region? The cumulative impacts of these developments are well reported by the AEIC.
What impact will infrasound, low frequency noise and noise from transmission, substations and BESS have on the bat population?
This project should be refused until a comprehensive and independent assessment of cumulative impacts, acoustic impacts, biodiversity impacts, social impacts is undertaken.

The cumulative impacts of this project have been insufficiently addressed.
The social impacts of this project have been insufficiently addressed.
The permanent change to the character of the local landscape will be devastating.
The cumulative environmental damage and industrialisation of the whole Central West Orana region is unnecessary and not in the public interest.
