I am opposed to the proposed plans by Conquest to build multiple high-rise tower complex in our low-lying suburb.
This proposed development represents an overwhelming overreach in terms of scale and impact on our local area.
There is no major transport hub anywhere near this massive development to serve the 130+ apartment, will inevitably lead to significant traffic congestion. With limited proposed parking spaces within the development will lead to local streets being filled with parked cars of the building residents.
The towers will pose a major safety hazard. Castlecrag only has 2 roads in and out. As a peninsular surrounded by a large area of bushland, the large number of apartments and new residents will pose a severe hazard for the ability to evacuate the area effectively. Residents fleeing the apartment in cars would clog and block the exit.
The current approved plans for the site are suitable for area, which balances the need for new housing while maintaining the area's important heritage.

I strongly object to proposed development at 100 Edinburgh Road. I have too many objections to cover all of them.
My major objections are:
Height of 12 to 13 stories in a suburb where highest build is currently 2 stories is so excessive. It will destroy the heritage nature of Castlecrag and overshadow every house and the whole ambience of the suburb and the surrounding suburbs. The closest building of this scale is in crows nest , north sydney or Chatswood.It will overshadow the entire suburb.

It is not on a transport hub so it will cause major traffic issues as there are no train nearby and minimal bus services. Getting out of Castlecrag will be a nightmare.
There are big safety concerns for pedestrians.

We know there are many planning non-compliance issues to current zoning and statutory controls

I have no objection to development, but i do object to to this development due to the height of the proposed building. No problem with the footprint just the bulk and the height . I would think that a maximum of 4 to 5 stories would be a good compromise and not impact the suburb.

I’m all for this project. Castlecrag is one of my go-to spots on weekends, and I really enjoy the café and bar vibe there. I think adding some housing and new shops will just make the area even better and more lively.

We are surprised by the proposal. The building height appears too excessive, and it seems the developer is being overly ambitious—perhaps starting with an inflated plan with the intention of scaling it back later. A good tactics for the developer but not good for our community.

The proposed development is not In keeping with the heritage style of the Castlecrag area. The area does not suit a high rise development and does not make sense due to the only road accessibility in and out of the suburb. It will cause traffic chaos and an eye sore being the only high rise in the area. The original approved development is more acceptable. The proposed building will create unacceptable over shadowing to the surrounding heritage homes.

Sydney is facing a well‑documented housing shortage, and thoughtful development in established suburbs like Castlecrag can play an important role in easing this pressure. Increasing housing supply in well‑located areas helps create more options for people who want to live close to work, family, and essential services, without pushing growth further to the city’s fringes.

A development in Castlecrag also benefits from its proximity to existing local amenities, including shopping centres, public transport, schools, and green spaces. Locating new homes near these services reduces travel time, supports local businesses, and encourages more sustainable, connected communities.

When done sensitively and in line with planning controls, additional housing in areas with strong infrastructure can help address current shortages while preserving the character and livability that make suburbs like Castlecrag desirable places to live.

I strongly object to the twin tower high rise development .I bought in Castlecrag because it was a beautiful bush subhurb unique in its penninsula setting .I already sit in traffic on Edinburgh rd on weekday mornings ,sometimes backed past the roundabout on the postern at 730am -8am.
I want the development to proceed along with the original scope of work 5 stories maximum
