This proposal for two oversized towers should not be allowed. The traffic already in Edinburg Rd is already unsustainable. The traffic chaos this development will cause, especially in peak hours will gridlock all the local roads. If emergency vehicles try to negotiate the congestion from Edinburgh Rd and Eastern Valley Way it may cause lives to be lost.

I think that the project is far too large for the suburb
It will create problematical traffic to the suburb as it will affect people’s ability to drive in and out of the area
Public transport with be adversely affected as most of the buses in peak hour are already full by the time they arrive at Castlecrag
This will be the tallest building outside of Chatswood

I am writing to formally object to the proposed development at 100 Edinburgh rd Castlecrag. My concerns are:
1. Excessive height and number of levels.
The proposed development is overly tall and contains too many levels for the surrounding area. It is inconsistent with the established character and scale of Castlecrag which is predominantly low-rise. Such a development will have a significant visual and environmental impact and sets an undesirable precedent for future overdevelopment.
2. Traffic Congestion and safety concerns.
The increase in vehicle movements from such a large development will significantly worsen traffic conditions. Castlecrag already experiences congestion issues and the addition of hundreds of vehicles entering and exiting the area will exacerbate delays and raise safety concerns for residents and pedestrians. ( Particularly with a school and hospital in Castlecrag)
3. Parking Overflow into surrounding streets.
This proposal is likely to result in insufficient on-site parking leading to an overflow parking in nearby resident streets ( which are already very narrow and full of out of area cars parking in Castlecrag and travelling into the city).
4. Inadequate Public Transport Capacity.
Public transport services along Eastern Valley Way are currently limited and insufficient to support a development of this scale. Without a substantial increase i bus frequency and capacity, residents will be heavily reliant on private vehicles, further compounding traffic and parking issues.
For the reasons outlined above ( which are only a few of the issues) I strongly object to this development . The proposal is inappropriate in scale, poorly supported by infrastructure and inconsistent with the character of Castlecrag. I urge the relevant authority to reject or substantially revise the application.

I am not opposed to development but this development is Environmentally Abusive to Castlecrag and the surrounding community. There is no infrastructure in place to accommodate the proposed development. There is really only one way in and out of Castlecrag which is Edinburgh Rd., and that can be banked up as far as the Hospital in peek hour and Parking is also a problem. I had worked at the Hospital for 19 years until this time last year. The Hospital may not be an Emergency Hospital but it has 3 Operating Theatre's. Two Wards one for Surgical Patients and one for Medical Patients. I worked in the Operating theatre's and have seen first hand when a Patient has needed to be transported to major Hospital because they have Crashed on the Operating Table or in Recovery and there are time when the Patient becomes unwell on the Ward and an Ambulance is needed.
I believe that the so called affordable Housing is a Joke, it just a Tax deduction for the Developer.
As I have said I'm not opposed to new developments as I recently down size from a home in Middle Cove of 45yrs to a new 4 storey block of 11 units on Eastern Valley Way Northbridge.
It concerns me that there seems to be never any consideration to the wild life and their habitat when comes to developers and the approval they are given.

I am a landscape designer who has worked extensively in the Sydney area for the last 10 years. I hav installed numerous gardens in the Willoughby and Castlecrag areas in keeping with local flora and landscapes and am so saddened by the recent development proposal for the towers on Edinburgh Road Castlecrag.
The Castlecrag suburb has a beautiful connection to the bush. The Eucalypts and Angophora’s in the area are remarkable and environmentally significant, the area itself is unique within the Sydney Basin. The development of these towers will overshadow and obliterate the natural bush beauty. The landscape will charge, areas of bush will be overshadowed and intimate scale of trees to landscape and genius loci will be lost.
I strongly object to this development proposal and ask the beautiful bush legacy of the area be preserved for future generations.

I am appalled that the excessive development at 100 Edinburgh Road, Castlecrag might go ahead. It is an insult to our community and totally ignores the legacy of Walter Burley Griffin and his wife, Marion Mahony Griffin. Once that legacy is destroyed it will never come back. That will attract further over development in this unique suburb of Sydney.
Not long ago, there was a strong community atmosphere in Castlecrag. We had viable local; shops and restaurants. The proposed over development goes against all that.
It is very easy to destroy good things and impossible to rectify that destruction. How could honourable Town Planners do this? Disgraceful!

This project is not consistent with the previous council guidelines for the area. It will create very dangerous traffic hazards through the lack of viable entry and exit routes. There is only one entry/exit for residents, store delivery vans etc. Grossly inadequate for a project this size.
During the demolition of the previous buildings, two large removal trucks caused chaos on Edinburgh Rd/ Eastern Valley Way as the traffic gridlocked at around 10:00am.
To label this proposal as State significant is absurd. There is one bus line outside the proposed buildings and on the already heavily congested roads.
I attended a community consultation meeting to hear more about what was proposed and was shocked by the lack of accurate details.
I was very disappointed to hear the Premier refer to Castlecrag residents as NIMBIS - this is not the case here , rather the proposal is an appalling, opportunistic attempt to steamroller an inappropriate development solely for the benefit of the developer.
