Despite considerable local objections, my knowledge is that large scale renewable projects, both solar and wind, are essential to the long term security of the grid, and our move towards clime change catastrophe.

This is a very large and poorly thought out project and I object to it in the fullest.
Aside from the fact that increased reliance on renewables is pushing power price up and increased government funding for this is helping to cause inflation this is a very poor location for such a project.
Firstly it is a massive development of approximately 750 hectares worth of panels. This far too large of a project for this area. This is prime rural and residential land which should be reserved for extracting all possible value from food and fibre production as well as potential residential purposes in the future. Setting up a project like this takes value out of the local community's hands in the long run.
The developer has not maid any proper effort to consult the local community which is disrespectful and innappropriate and disregards due process required in these projects.
The project is a a huge grass fire risk, firstly from the electrical side of the panels and secondly from the poorly managed grass and weed burden of such projects. Having one tank of water for fire fighting is completely inadequate as well.
Subsequent to the prior point it is too close to Goulburn cbd being only 6km and too close to rural lifestyle homes in the area with approximately 200 within 4km of the project. The solar will be an eyesore and a concern for these residents with increased traffick in their quiet area being of concern for security and lifestyle reasons.
All of this is greatly affecting the mental health of the local residents and it would be ludicrously disrespectful to not take this into account.
I would also like to point out that Goulburn isn't a sunny area and there would be much better locations for this.

I object to the Merino Solar Farm. Please see my attached submission

Goulburn is not known to be a sunny place so a solar farm makes no sense. Additionally, the initial plan has changed and will now impact the neighbours and surrounding farm land, which has not been accounted for nor had studies done on the impacts. The dangers of this project outweigh the potential benefits, such as fire dangers for example.
