I am concerned with the impact that this battery storage would have on the lifestyle and the peaceful environment that we currently enjoy at our residence.
One of the main concerns is that this project is one of three storage battery projects in our area. The other two being located in close vicinity at Calala Lane and Ascot Calala Lane.
There are huge concerns regarding the construction of the battery storage farm in regard to the increase of traffic during the installation process particularly in relation to the dirt roads that will be used for access.
The safety of the batteries is also a major concern as they are located closely to other residences within the area and the volume of noise that they will generate.
The proposed battery storage systems will have a huge impact on the visual of our environment and the value of our properties.
People have chosen to live in a rural area on small properties to enjoy peace and quiet of their surroundings not to live in an industrial area where the side effects of a battery storage farm is unknown. Particularly if we find ourselves surrounded by not one but three battery storage farms with an unknown number of batteries confirmed at this stage.
Concerns of residents needs to be addressed and considered before this project can continue in its planning.

This development impacts large numbers of people due to its proximity to high density residential area. The visual and potential noise/vibration issues must be satisfactorily addressed to a standard acceptable to the surrounding residences, and not just meet the minimum requirements. This development otherwise has the potential to significantly devalue nearby properties. We want to know what kind of environmental controls there are on potential pollution from the site.

Too many houses in close proximity. Bushfire prone area. Traffic will increase unreasonably for local residents. Possible emission of toxic gases. Drainage will go into rivers. BESS emit noise. How will residents sleep?

This submission is not in a good area, we live very close & believe this is a very dangerous place to allow so many storage batteries to be placed in such a built up area. With this site being up hill from the local Goonoo Goonoo Creek which leads into the Peel River which supplies water to country towns. So the water from the BESS site will run down into the water supply for human drinking water. The constant humming that is created from current Battery Storage Systems is reported as high & distressing.

I strongly oppose the to proposed battery energy system for Burgmann's Lane .
I also do not agree with the other two proposed projects within a few kilometres of the one in Burgmanns Lane.
Renewables do have their place, but not right on the door step of general housing and farming land.
How do the local neighbours feel about it? are they being compensated in any way ?
I'm sure the developers will be making heaps of money, why not ensure the developers pay the neighbours some sort of compensation for the noise factor, the ugly container sheds and of course FULL loss of property value, Can the DPI order them to compensate the neighbours in full? The total property devaluation should be covered.
Lots of concern about fires with batteries over the past few years, is this going to be a problem? Once a fire starts does it need to burn out or can it be put out? I wouldn't want to be living next door to this proposed project.
What about the combined noise, traffic and devaluation of property from the proposed three BESS for this immediate area.
I hope you can see lots of reasons why this proposed project should not proceed. Please consider other locations for the BESS projects particularly this one.

I am very concerned about the proposed battery backup system to be located in Burgmanns Lane Tamworth. I do believe that we need renewable energy , however do we need to put it in a residential area , which has lovely homes and rural outlooks? This new project will ruin the the whole area. What does that mean to the neighbouring land owners? how will it affect them? these battery storage systems are very large , ugly and noisy.

Have the planners and developers of this project looked into providing a noise wall and maybe a lot of trees around the proposed site? will this be part of the actual project? If not, it should be !

I am sure that I wouldn't want to live next door to such a huge project I'm sure it would be hard to sell a house next door if this project does proceed.

What would it do to the property values of the immediate neighbours ? are they being compensated for their loss? I believe the poor neighbours should be fully compensated, I think you are all barking mad if you don't consider the compensation for the immediate neighbours.

What about the traffic? especially it being on a dirt road, are the developers fixing up the road? It does flood along that road.
All things considered, it would be wrong to have this project approved in a residential area, it should be moved well away from such areas, is this a case of profits before people and their homes??? Look after locals not just big business. It is wrong.

The project is far too close to a prime residential area on the edge of a rapidly growing regional town. The proposal has severe noise pollution implications for all surrounding residential properties, is a real and genuine fire risk in an area that is often at high risk due to the climatic conditions and lack of rainfall in this area. All of this is in addition to the eyesore it will be to all surrounding properties in this area that is zoned as a prime residential and rural residential area.
Tamworth has grown in the last 20 years to be a large regional centre attracting a number of National and International tourists for all of its sporting and recreational activities that it has to offer. This battery plant would significantly reduce the value of the land, destroy the natural beauty of this area and remove/ reduce a number of local people's livelihoods as a knock on effect of this development. There is absolutely no long term benefit to any local inhabitants and the only people that will profit are people who have absolutely no vested interest in this area and are happy to destroy it! This proposed monstrosity would be at the entrance and gateway to a rapidly expanding regional area and would actively discourage any new visitors, new home owners and tourists to the area. Our local council has actively encouraged, supported and funded the development of new sporting and lifestyle facilities to this area and this battery and solar farm proposal would immediately stop and destroy everything that has been achieved for this town to date!

I wish to register my objection to the Tamworth BESS and believe it should not proceed.
This installation is clearly industrial in nature, size, and appearance and therefore belongs in an industrial area and not on farmland.
I am aware of five proposals in our area, four of which are within five kilometres of Tamworth city. I feel all five should be considered at the same time as areas of influence overlap and therefore compound the inconvenience.
The consultants who have been engaged seem to have been selected because of their expertise in 'mitigating' objections rather than as architects and industrial designers who would take what is an eyesore spoiling our amenity and add subjective beautification. These professionals could then provide terrain models with 3D walkthrough presentations and simulations which would provide a more true basis for evaluation.
The documents provided by the proponents are deliberately vague, for example the property boundaries are not clear at all and not to scale, making accurate assessment impossible. The proponents know their application will go on public exhibition ; why isn't there an 'Executive Summary' provided with bullet points for all relevant points, saving elderly people the agony of wading through 700 pages of the application. Aged responders cannot be expected to print and absorb 700 pages, most not having the technical degrees or expertise.

This project is not beneficial for Calala, for Tamworth and will disturb the peace of our rural suburb. It will create more traffic to an already extreamly crowded area and council need to fix this problem.
