I strongly object to this data centre being built on what little remains of green space in inner Sydney. Its proximity to the Wolli Creek Regional Park is a terrible choice. Local residents need green space for exercise and recreation, yet we keep building high density housing with no plan for how these residents will have a high quality of life. This proposal would mean that international travellers will land in Sydney with the an eye sore of a view of some brutalist data centres. Not to mention that we are a country prone to bushfires and drought, we do not have that amount of water for more useless data centres which only benefit tech companies. More data centres without strict legislation and thorough forethought is not what the majority of Sydney-siders want. I also believe that Wolli Creek is prone to flooding which makes me question whether these companies have really thought of this location. Thank you.

We can not allow such an obtrusive and architecturally hideous structure to be built right next door to our international airport. Besides that, this monstrous consumer of energy cannot not be plonked in the middle of a growing suburban hub.

I strongly object to the Kogarah Golf Club Redevelopment – Concept & Stage 1 Works application in its current form. I respectfully request that the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure:
● Refuse the application in its current form, or
● Decline to determine the application until all outstanding technical assessments (traffic, acoustic, ecological, heritage, visual impact) are prepared, independently reviewed, and publicly exhibited;
● Require the proponent to reduce the height and bulk of the concept envelope to a scale that is genuinely compatible with the surrounding residential and environmental context;
● Not approve Stage 1 clearing and earthworks until the EPBC Act assessment has been finalised and the biodiversity offset strategy has been independently assessed and legally secured;
● Require binding, legally enforceable commitments to public open space delivery before any approval is granted;
● Ensure a comprehensive, independently peer-reviewed Traffic and Transport Impact Assessment modelling full-build freight and vehicle movements is publicly exhibited before determination.

I am extremely concerned about the potential noise created by this development. I am greatly concerned about how much power it will use and if there will be effects on local residential power supply. Finally, i do not see any public value in having such an asset in our area it seems ti me that the only value is to the govt and the facility owner…no public benefit at all

Datacenter cause a lot of noise and water pollution to the area, as well as increased power consumption to the grid further driving up already increasing energy prices. Get it far and away!!!

I don’t disagree that this space needs a redevelopment but not in the way these plans will make it. Especially a data centre being including in these plans. Further reasons are stated below.
- Removal of needed extra green space
- Height of buildings is ridiculous not to mention no aesthetic thought process into the design.
- Impact on local wildlife - marine and land animals
- Significant water and electricity use in a dense urban area
- No benefits at all for the local community with such large buildings taking over green space
- Unknown repercussions of data centres for the local community
We are trying to improve the cooks river and with such a close proximity the Sydney International Airport why would this monstrosity want to be looked at.

A Data Centre is a detriment to Wolli Creek and surrounding suburbs!
The community of Wolli Creek and surrounding suburbs absolutely do NOT WANT a data centre in our backyard. These monstrosities are an eyesore, they pollute then surrounding area with noise and are a detriment to the health and wellbeing of those who live near such infrastructure. (See the following: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bP80DEAbuo )
Not only will this devalue our suburb, be a detriment to the health of our citizens, it will also result in sky rocketing electricity and water bills as the data centre competes with regular citizens for these utilities, further driving housing out of reach financially due to increased bills.
THE DATA CENTRE ABSOLUTELY MUST NOT GO AHEAD
