I object to the Powerhouse Parramatta project because the destruction of the historic houses Willow Grove and St George's Terrace would be tragic. Willow Grove and St Georges Terrace are one of a kind in the Parramatta CBD and their loss would have a significant impact on the community's connection with heritage.

I object to the Powerhouse Parramatta project because Willow Grove and St Georges Terrace are unique and highly important buildings in the Parramatta CBD and their loss would have a significant impact on the community's connection with heritage.

These buildings belong to everyone in NSW and Australia.

There is a very simple solution, which I implore Planning NSW and the NSW State government to implement immediately.

This three point plan involves:

1. Keep the Powerhouse Museum at Ultimo

2. Create a brilliant Museum and cultural destination at historic Cumberland Hospital Precinct in North Parramatta.

3. Save historic Willow Grove & St Georges Terraces, and realise the existing Parramatta Council vision for a public square alongside the river.

This plan would also generate long term jobs not only in construction but also in all the professions related to museums, history, conservation and more.

This plan would also support domestic and international tourism.

Please note I have not made any political donations.

I object to the Powerhouse Parramatta project because the two heritage sites of Willow Grove and St George’s Terrace must be preserved.
A new museum should not be built at the expense of Parramatta’s heritage.

I object to the Powerhouse Parramatta project because.. I find it astounding that a history is being destroyed forever to build a museum dedicated to history.
This act of vandalism should not go ahead.

I object to the Powerhouse Parramatta project because I am a direct descendant of James Bloodworth. If you don't know who he is, he was the first convict brickmaker. He designed and built the first government house in Sydney and also Old Government house in Parramatta.

I literally cry each time I see a heritage building be demolished. I have always done this for as long as I can remember. Even before I knew of my descendancy from J Bloodworth. So it all made sense to me when this information came to light ....

It sounds ridiculous but I feel mentally scarred each time I watch the destruction of Australian building history. I have even had to see a psychologist about why it hurts so much to see the blatant disregard for the history of our buildings.

I bet I'm not the only Aussie who feels this way.

Please stop this ...

The Powerhouse needs to remain where it is and more importantly Willow Grove needs to remain intact ...

Please respect our history.

I object to the Power House Museum project as I do not want to see Willow Grove demolished.

I grew up in Parramatta during the 1950's, 1960's and for the first half of the 1970"s. I have warm and vivid memories of walking past Willow Grove as a child and admiring its architecture and beautiful gardens! I walked past it whenever I visited David Jones or the Parramatta Swimming Centre which was really quite often! What lovely memories to retain some 60 years later! As children growing up in Parramatta we were very much aware of the city's colonial history and we were proud of all these beautiful old buildings - Old Government House, Experiment Farm, Hambledon Cottage and Willow Grove. We were surrounded by our past and I believe that this gave us positive ambitions for our future. Back in those years these old houses were still occupied by private residents, Elizabeth Farm was occupied by the three Swan sisters. One of them taught piano, another elocution and I think the other taught violin. My Dad was only the third person to own our property since it was granted to Surgeon Harris after whom Harris Park was named. The local history was real to us. Parramatta is the cradle of our nation and these old buildings must be treasured and preserved . They must become a feature of Parramatta to demonstrate our country"s early years - similar to what has been done at The Rocks.

Old buildings such as Willow Grove and St George Terrace must be preserved .

There is no sense in destroying a magnificent living museum with a fascinating history to build another. This would be such a tragedy.

I am not a member of any political party.

Yours Faithfully,

Marilyn Brown

I object to the Powerhouse Parramatta project because I oppose the destruction of the historic buildings Willow Grove and St Georges Terraces. These buildings have significant heritage value to local residents like myself. Please stop bulldozing heritage buildings in our community for the sake of 'progress'. I would like to see a museum that celebrates the heritage elements in Parramatta not one that destroys them. Also, the proposed powerhouse design is an eyesore.

I object to the Powerhouse Parramatta project because the location is completely unsuitable. By all means have a museum in the Parramatta area but not at the expense of historic buildings which can never be replaced. Future generations will not thank us for a museum which destroys our heritage.
