I am a local resident of the area surrounding the quarry and an employee of many years. The quarry has always been important to our community as a place of work and I can see that an approval for this application will continue on this legacy.

Cleary Bros has been a part of the Illawarra for more than a century and has earned its right to operate within our region. The quarry has been operated well and responsibly and during its history has employed many local people. I see this proposal as an investment in the future of our area and the many people who are looking to build their homes and raise families as part of our community.

The quarry is a very important source of materials for the local building and construction industry and approval of this application will allow the site to continue to play its critical role in this regard. It also supports a wide variety of jobs, including mine, which are not just at the site, but in other parts of our business and in companies which work with Cleary Bros.

I am supportive of Cleary Bros' proposal as a result of my work in the civil construction part of the business. The materials which the site provides are crucial to the infrastructure we are currently creating which will support the growth of the population in our local area. The quarry is central to the provision of jobs to local people for which Cleary's are well known. Advancing this proposal will secure a long-term benefit for not just those of us who work with the business, but for the local economy and social well being of present and future residents.

As an employee of 25 years, the quarry's importance to meeting supply and demand in the local building and construction industry is very apparent to me. Our organisation is a well known local institution and I feel it is vital that it be allowed to continue to not just ensure local resources are used for local works, but also to enable the creation and support of jobs within the Illawarra.

As a Cleary Bros employee of four years in the Concrete division, the quarry is essential to my ongoing employment. I joined the organisation from a supplier to Clearys and can therefore verify that keeping the organisation going through approval of proposals like this one is vital not only to Clearys people, but also to many others employed through businesses which support them as a larger local company.

Cleary Bros is a strong contributor to our community. It supports many local activities and groups such as local sporting organisations, showing it plays a much bigger role in keeping our region going than just producing building materials. Many local jobs are reliant on the quarry, including mine, and so the approval of the application will make a big difference to the availability of future roles in our industry for local people.

I work for the organisation in the Concrete division and have done for five years. Concrete cannot be manufactured without a supply of hard rock and so if the quarry's operations were not continued, myself and my colleagues would quickly find ourselves out of work. Approving this application therefore makes sense for not only those of us who work here, but also for those in the whole community who rely on our concrete for building and construction.

I am a new employee to the company, working in the Concrete division which relies heavily on the availability of hard rock. In supporting this application, I'm indicating my support for this availability to be continued, not only for the benefit of my employment, but that of my colleagues and others working in this industry locally.

As the region's largest employer with a proud long-standing history of contributing to our community, Cleary Bros holds an important place in our region. Generations of local people have been employed by the company and therefore directly had input into the shaping of our suburbs through the production of materials for building and construction. The company supports many community activities and is very involved in local life. Approving this expansion is a way to keep these positives going well into the future.
