HVO in the Hunter Valley has a track record of environmentally responsible operations that have overall benefited the local community and NSW economy for over 50 years. It was some of the first open cut coal mined in the Hunter Valley, and given the quality of the HVO coal, it should be the last coal mined in 2050.

I support the project

I give the continuation of HVO my full support. This is a great opportunity for the Hunter Valley to provide ongoing employment and financial certainty to its employees and the local community.

I support the continuation of HVO, it provides myself and many others with a good job.

I support the HVO South Open Cut Continuation Project because the benefits this extension will provide to local communities as well as the state as a whole. Apart from the financial benefits in the form of royalties to the state, employment, both direct and indirect to the area is enormous. We shouldn't just view the mine as a mine, but a provider for men and woman to raise their children and have active lives in the community. If we continue to restrict mining and other projects we'll remove any hope of our children to be educated and employed locally and towns will die. I strongly support the HVO South Open Cut Continuation Project.
