I am writing to object to the Clarence Coal Mine Modification 6 for the following reasons,
1. The companies poor environmental record over the past years. Contamination of the Sydney Water catchment and the Blue Mountains National Park. The contamination also impacted wildlife in this area.
2. The removal of such large amounts of coal, on top of what has already been extracted, will damage the water table and course additional subsidence in the Garden of Stones and the hanging swamps.
3. The burning of fossil fuels is adding to the climate change and this must be taken into account when assessing such application. I was directly impacted by the recent fires and am very concerned for myself and future generations if the use of fossil fuels continue.
4. This is the companies 6 modification to the Development application, which to me indicates poor planning.
5. This area has been impacted by bushfires and needs time to recover.
Finally I only received notification on Friday 16th October, 2020 not allowing enough time to write a detailed submission. I also feel the timing of this application will mean many people living close to this project may not reply because they so busy trying to get their lives back together after loosing their homes in the recent bush fires.
