Crown Lands provides the following comments:-
Reference is made to the Environmental Assessment , Tahmoor Coal Modification 5 DA67/98 by Cardno prepared for Tahmoor Coking Coal Operations -SIMEC, dated 12 June 2020.
Crown Lands is concerned for the Crown Waterway, Stonequarry Creek, which skirts the western boundary of the longwall LW W1 and the northern boundary of Longwalls LW W1 to LW W3.
In reference to Figure 3.1 Tahmoor Coal Mod 5 Historical Heritage assessment, Stonequarry Creek is within the dark blue line denoting “ Predicted 20mm total subs longwall W1-W4” and also the green line denoting “ 35 degree angle of draw longwall W1-W4”.
Appropriate regulatory authorities need to be satisfied that subsidence of Stonequarry Creek, at the locations identified in the second paragraph above, will not cause environmental damage to Stonequarry Creek and its riparian corridor, along with surrounding and downstream ecosystems.
